Anyone remember when weapons didn’t create orbs of power? It’ll be like that. I think we’ll survive.
Maybe, just possibly they are going to add some new mechanics to the game. It’s just -blam!- orbs. Holy -blam!- people. Lmfao!!!!
I just want to say that I think it’s -blam!- amazing that people can compare a change in a video games mechanics to “that time we didn’t have cars”. We are -blam!- doomed as a species.

I mean I guess you can use the new orb generating mods….. or not. It’s their game to change. Right?

When we didn’t have orbs we gad a set time to get the super. We had kills that would give super energy based on the level of mob that was killed (so like orbs, but kill based). And we didn’t have season mods that change every season based on orb economy. This current game is built around the concept of orbs for a lot of things. It’ll make some mods useless and other mods a requirement if you want to take up a mod slot for orbs. The supers aren’t all the same time base now and kills don’t reward as much super energy so all the orbs I pick up on raids go away other than used supers or energy type wells (but that’s a build, not orb economy). So tiered supers take longer in a long fight.

I agree with your sentiment however everything that Bungie does lately appears to be negative. If they had come up with a positive alternative to the orb mod system (and maybe they will) the hate wouldn't be such.

All they needed to do was put the orb mods on Ghosts rather then helms

Probably used the wrong word. Rather than alternative meant positive offset. eg. masterworked weapons give x% more damage above and beyond what is currently given.
