Weapons are at their memory limit right now, solely due to masterworks genning orbs. It'll probably cost 1 point on the helmet. Small price to pay for more weapons. And even better weapon crafting.

Do you have any idea how saturated the helmet mod slots are as it is right now? You say it’s not a big deal but it is literally a step backwards when we have been passively generating orbs off masterworked weapons with no effort other then masterworking the weapon itself, pointing and shooting. It’s been this way since forever, why go backwards now when there’s already a million and one other things to worry about.

Saturated how? PvP u run max 5 for HC or sniper targeting. Maybe a 4 for recov. So that's PvP covered. PvE? Scavs with no stat boost will be the way to go.

You’re basing your argument with a PVP mindset. If you honestly think that pve builds revolve around a scav mod then you are massively mistaken. There are so many different builds based around charged with light or wells all of which consume a fair share of energy. Tie that in with seasonal champ mods, ability mods, artifact mods and 99% of the time you’re out of space.

What? Protective light? Charged with light? Heavy scav and special scav? Pretty much the go to for any GM. If you're doing a GM and not using them I'd be suprised. But honestly what else is there? Ultimately they gotta free up memory. Seems like an easy win. Especially for weapon crafting.

Free up memory? How about stop releasing the plethora of dog water weapons that everyone knows are an automatic dismantle. There are literally over 600 weapons in the game, a million combinations of awful and unusable rolls and I bet my bottom dollar 90% of those are dismantled by the average player. Unless you’re a new light still levelling and have little to none experience in what rolls to chase, then there’s no use for over half the stuff currently circulating the loot pool. There you go. I just cleared enough memory.

When he's refering to Memory, he's talking about the memory the weapon itself has. All Legendary Weapons are already at their Memory Limit, which prevents Bungie from adding more perks to weapons. Removing Orb Gen frees up memory for Bungie to add more perks to weapons. The change is a nerf on paper but we also don't know what else is changing as the weapon system is getting reworked with Witch Queen.
