Let’s be real though, had orbs and cool downs worked like D1, we really wouldn’t be having this conversation, or their sheer need for them to keep f’ing with everything, which is the crux of the problem.
They don’t even have a uniform way of doing anything. They keep claiming the MMO card, but this change and the previous ability change goes opposite of what they claim D2 is. Let’s be real here, they still don’t know.

Thank you. The issue stems from the origi-blam!- scheme of basing D2 around a PvP balance which is what we got when D2 released. Now they've been playing catch up and putting band aids on the issue while they develop what feels like sporadic overhauls after spoiling players with band aids. Masterworking was simply a band aid that should have never existed and the D1 skill system will always be superior. I suppose that's what they're trying to recapture with Stasis and the Void rework. We'll see.
