  • According to them, this was all from feedback. They said they had consistent requests to have Exotic weapons generate orbs without catalysts. I don’t know who these people are, because I’ve certainly never seen this request. Maybe you only get your voice heard when it’s the pro players talking. All else be damned, I guess.

  • This^ I wanted non-catalyst exotics to make orbs and have a kill counter. Never did I ask for making a armor mod slot, let alone on a crowded slot AND removing it from masterwork guns I already have AND having to switch it out literally every time I switch guns. That is beyond asinine and illogically stupid.

  • The sad truth (imho) is that even after 7 years, Bungie still has no plan for the direction of the game. No long term strategy no master plan, no vision. It seems more like them randomly changing things back and forth (without ever addressing any underlying issues) to see what sticks. Go fast update, sunsetting, recent ability nerf,... now this. And on the off chance that they actually react to any player request, it's either in the most convoluted and consumer-unfriendly way (transmog) or a plain monkey-paw deal like now with orb generation.

  • Yep, I agree. For me, your point is another frustrating aspect of the game. The sands are constantly shifting, which makes it really hard to find a build, weapons, subclass, and play style to settle into. You have to reassess almost every season. It’s not fun. It’s just frustrating.

They called these periods "seasons" even going back to D1Y1 when they were addressing Iron Banner gun superiority... saying that ~"maybe in the future, your favorite gun type will have its own season where it may have its time to shine."

  • Sure, but they do it too often. There’s no time to really have a favorite gun, no time to find an awesome build. When there’s no point to finding that stuff because it all gets shuffled after a couple months, it’s only a point of frustration. If they did it twice a year or something like that, it’d be much better. Shuffling the meta IS a good thing but not this often.

It is actually what is keeping me from rejoining the game full-time. I only play on an alt account now, and haven't paid for season passes for quite a while. I really wish Bungie would learn what the hell they are trying to do, without the idiotic negative impacts that nobody asked for. They should sell THAT game. Don't lock players into a seasonal artifact that limits playstyles and selections. There is usually a perfect loadout for a particular season, then right when everything is ready with our loadouts, season changes shortly after. Can't prep for next season without hoarding, because we don't know anything about the next nerf/buff, currency, or seasonal artifact.

  • There have been people asking for catalysts on exotics that don't have them yet, specifically for orb generation. But nobody ever asked for this. Not even close. Like, it's so blatantly obvious that nobody would want this. People should be careful what they complain to Bungie about. Their solution may be worse than the problem. Sometimes I think this game would just be better if they never communicated with their player base to begin with.

They don't "listen". They observe stats, and try new ways to boost player involvement. If someone asks them why - they'll probably just seek out a group of stats, and fabricate a player perspective, not realizing how far off they are, because the folks that make decisions do not play the game.

  • I hate to say it but if they didnt care about what people said about their changes they wouldnt tell us the changes in the first place wouldnt give us a forum to complain to them on or constantly talk about problems that are in the game and fix things we dont like "sunsetting" helmets have almost 0 elemental mods anyway its mods that benefit all types of guns whether they be a certain element or type of ammo so guns that you dont have the catalyst for or guns that are too -blam!- to masterwork will also get these orbs but also in pvp its so dumb that you get so many buffs for playing well that you are so easily able to stomp the other team because you got 8 kills in a row here is 1 fourth of your super energy so either dont put the mods on or put it on and have less targeting mods

  • Hence why I havnt pre ordered. I really really really really want too, but I’m limited on money. I don’t want to miss out on storylines, I don’t want to miss out on seasonal storylines and guns and achievements. But the devs for this game keep being disrespectful of its players time and enjoyment. The same thing with the SWTOR devs for their new xpac (which launches a week before TWQ) just sad the 2 games I like playing are being trashed because of selfish narcissistic developers who don’t care about others. 😞 Because in the end, who suffers? They don’t, we do. 😞

They spent that much money already they already feel committed and are filled with so much false hope of the game being better than it is now that they will continue to keep spending money in an endless cycle of disappointment. At this point buying a season pass isn’t even worth it.

  • 90% of the people that play this game dont even like it the last 10% are either people that actually like to play video games or are new lights not that this is bungies fault this 90% of the community complain about things that are key to creating an experience thats involving and doesnt need to take you through a 2 hour long tutorial like gta5 its either people complaining about how theyre making us get materials to upgrade our armor? that sucks I want to be able to just have it all and not have to play the game to get the things that I want me personally i like the dares of eternity event because its fun most other players hate it because they couldnt NOT grind it to get the catalyst for forerunner day 1 even though its just meant to be done over time and to be fun to play My friend learned to hate Lightning round in dares because he played it for 2 days straight so he could get the catalyst and never play it again now he hates dares of eternity even though he quite literally put himself into it constantly forcing himself to not have fun most destiny players are like this and personally I have learned to stop doing this exact thing and even if i do I know its my fault for ruining it for myself and continue trying to play it for fun instead of letting the Grind ruin it for me only thing i can complain about is crucible having loot incentives to keep players that dont want to play pvp based activities going back in over and over to suffer just to gain rewards that the players that like pvp get so easily to woop everyone elses -blam!- with mountaintop is a good example of a gun that was great for literally everything dps ad clear pvp just simply taking out 1 enemy with a decent amount of health i guess that counts as dps a little but this was a known fact and so every single person wanted it even if they didnt have fun with pvp including me I was forced into doing these crucible pinacle weapons because the solstice of heroes demanded that i get 1 from gambit strikes AND CRUCIBLE which all require you to already have skill in the subject i spent weeks getting mountaintop and when i got it i also got recluse now that i had these guns i -blam!- -blam!- up in the crucible but i wasnt skilled neither did i have too much fun doing so I'm not a competitive guy but all i got was 2 weapons i would be forced to either use or get kicked if i didnt use in raids and gms and other activities i dont have fun playing crucible or any pvp related activities in any video game ever if its competitive atleast strikes fun raids super fun gambit NO patrols lacking but nonetheless still somewhere to walk around and kill -blam!- when im bored dares of eternity super fun gms super fun I watched a video the other day called 19 things destiny 2 players hate it started off simple and turned into I HAVE TO LEVEL UP MY CHARACTER IN THE GAME IN ABLE TO BE A HIGHER LEVEL? so simply stop complaining about this stuff game fine dry period has arrived and I havent been this invested into destiny since year 1 of destiny 2 because there was less to do until the next dlc cameout meaning that the only thing left to do wasnt to grind anything out it was to chose what i wanted to do next raids all had no meaning in terms of loot so any raids i did was for fun and strikes i did was because i liked the strike or i wanted to figure out how fast i could go and patrols i went into was because I havent been on titan in a bit let me go get some alcane dust and do some patrols when destiny is DRY its when you are the most likely "if you arent addicted to having a new quest to do everyday 24/7" to find something fun to do to keep you busy and when a new dlc comes out then im really busy and i can just find out more cool things I can do to keep me busy I dont have a job Im not super skilled in crucible I dont have EVERY seal in the game but I'm working on getting all the seals cuz i think its fun to sit down with the boys and just DO STUFF i still play crucible to get those cool weapons i cant get in pve and I have too much time to do them cuz nobody will hire me have fun playing the game stop complaining that bungie wants to put elements into the game that makes the game different and interesting throughout the years

  • A long post but in essence i agree with you. Destiny is like a digital to do list and on top of that eventhough they say it is not a competitive game it is fastly becoming one, especially crucible. Even de normal 6v6 list is now very sweaty and the best players out there are really toxic (stomping you 5-0 in trials and t-bagging every round). Bungie if you want your game to remain a fun playable for all game you need to introduce some sort of division system especially in pvp. That way every player can play at his or her own skill level and have fun (and the toxic t-baggers can do it to each other).

  • I agree with what you say But doing skill based match making means all the good good players are unhappy cuz suddenly they have to "get good" but more so instead of already being good and destroying the other team all the time Itd be a lot more fun atleast for me Cant say im terrible at crucible but im certainly not amazing so you know
