Why is the seasonal exotic weapon locked behind the Beyond Light paywall?
I took a few months off. I finished all of Beyond Light under the Xbox Game Pass. I understand Bungies decided to lock it. I don't agree with it. But it's their decision. I do feel some aspects need to be grandfathered in tho. However, can someone explain to me why Bungie decided to "soft lock" the current seasonal weapon behind Beyond Light? Since I don't outright own Beyond Light it seems I missed being able to get the season exotic by a few days. Why Bungie? Why is the Ager's Scepter locked behind a Beyond Light strike The Glassway? Bungie seemed to make accommodations for stasis by making some prerequisite stasis or solar. that is a good compromise. So why not the Glassway? Why not just make the requirement complete (3) strikes? I spent an entire day getting to step 8 of the quest just to be greeted with "BTW you need to pay $40". It's rude!
BTW I preordered The Witch Queen Delux edition, 30th-anniversary edition, and I bought the season of The Lost. All said that is over $180 in my local currency. I don't think iI would have to shell out an additional $40 in my local currency to get the weapon that should be self-contained in the current Season Pass.

Edited by EckyThump: 12/21/2021 9:07:32 PMHey there. All strikes are available through the Vanguard Strike playlist, even DLC ones. F2P players can play Glassway, Scarlet Keep, The Corrupted, etc, there, you just need to quit out and rejoin until you get matched into the one you want.

You can easily earn the Scepter without ever having to pay a cent. Thing is, you will need to play the playlist strikes until The Glassway comes up for you.
