The science (it doesn't need to be in quotes, especially if you accept that climate change is real) doesn't tell us to give money to the government. You are just projecting and grossly oversimplifying this. The science tells us we need to stop polluting our environments, recycle more (most plastics can't be recycled), reduce carbon emissions, and prepare for the inevitable because we are already past the point of no return. Tesla became a success because Musk was born lucky and had millions to invest in the technology and company, the fossil fuel industry has been lobbying the government for decades to stifle the electric car industry because they know it would hurt their bottom line if they became the majority on the road. the problem with climate change isn't that the government wants a bunch of money to then waste it, it is private corporations that are incentivized in maintaining the status quo because it is cheaper to keep using fossil fuels rather than innovate. the government also wasted 1 Trillion dollars on 1 jet that still doesn't work. by the way you talk about these things it makes me think you are a libertarian.
