You're right its not a political issue, as much as US politicians try to make it one. Its a social agenda issue. Many feel there's no place within the game itself for that kind of information to be placed and the company should stick to putting that kind of information on more conventional social platforms instead. Of course its Bungies game and they can do what they like. My issue I take is that the company cherry picks WHICH social agenda it decides to focus on, such as race and gender identity. Meanwhile, other issues are put on the sideline because they dont get the social spotlight so to speak. A perfect example would be military Veterans. The US isn't the only country that has Veterans, and yet, this year on veterans day in the US, Bungie instead made the focus of the TWAB about transgender. Their reasoning, Destiny is a game that is played in many countries. Veterans around the world deal with various forms of mental and physical disabilities ranging from PTSD, depression, to missing limbs. Yet they are constantly and consistently placed in the background because it would be inconvenient to address these issues over something such as someones gender or race. Bungie even utilized a quote when announcing Accessibility at Bungie, "If you do not intentionally include, you unintentionally excluding." (Paraphrasing). Take this as me calling Bungie out, as excluding military service members and veterans around the world because we dont meet the social agenda. (I'm a former US Navy member).
