I agree, the trans community has nothing to do with -blam!- orientation, yet they are lumped into lgb, the lgb community is therefore affected by this. And yes, in this instance specifically, stating you are a part of the community at the heart of the debate inherently makes your oppinion more valid then someone who isn't.
