the fact that this bothers people so much is utterly mindblowing to me, literally click a button and never see it again. the "this week in destiny" pop ups are more annoying.
if you really, truly "personally don't care" you would have clicked through the pop up without even reading it and already forgotten about it by now. that's what I did. genuinely the most insignificant thing to complain about of all time.

I have a very good friend that I've been gaming with for 12+ years. He finally said enough and won't pick up Destiny 2 again. Was it because he's a racist or a -blam!- or whatever? Absolutely not! It's because this is a game where splash screens that promote anything outside the game really aren't necessary.
-
^ This is not a true story.
-
5 bucks says he logs in tomorrow.
-
Nope I wont take that bet, I’d owe you $5 😂
-
and he's genderphobic to boot.
-
If you quit because of a splash screen about trans people, you might not like trans people very much lmao.
-
It really has very little to do with the trans community and more about the game being a game without agenda's, either implied or actual, being part of said game.
-
boohoo, I hate it when transgender people/supporters push the horrible agenda of “hey, can you stop ostracizing us, thanks”.
-
So your friend quit the game because of a splash screen? That is just...
-
Seems like a snowflake
-
He quit because of agenda's that aren't part of the game being splashed on the game screen. It's not one single occurrence, it's a culmination of things that don't belong in the game.
-
The scary agenda of trans people exist. How will he every recover from that.
-
Is this like your girlfriend in canada? because your friend seems morally weak
-
What is morals? It depends on were you are and which time you live in. Please do not put your morals (or lack of) on other people. You are being just a intolerant ans the people you are against.
-
Did he go into his panic room after he turned the game off? Sounds like a bit of an overreaction.
-
This is a joke right? He quit this game, after trudging through years of play, but this this support for trans people A splash screen dismissed with a single button press was just taking it wayyy too far?
-
lol. yes!
-
im sorry if he stopped playing the game just because of that he really needs to get a grip
-
That is true, we have an option to ignore it so I see the frustration on both sides, the side of the people who don’t want to be reminded and the other who don’t see why it should even be complained about considering that it is just a pop-up. To each their own
-
The thing is, why waste resources and time on doing useless stuff like that trans-pop-up thing? Instead of doing that very much utterly useless thing that will do nothing to anyone, they could've spent the time putting an option in settings to get rid of the "this week in destiny" pop-ups? No?
-
How so sports fan? Let's pretend your 'Transgeder' Do you think seeing a big company having your back is useless? Do you not think that maybe it would be life affirming to see people, who absolutely don't have to, having your back? You don't think that would be really, really cool for them?

Edited by OdotNines: 12/7/2021 7:17:30 AMSports fan? No. Now yes, some trans people (I know one that thinks having companies send a MSG to everyone saying that they support them... even though they don't really, isn't really helpful because he realizes that he's got a mental illness and is trying to fight it every day) might be happy that they're seeing all of the big corporations, the mainstream media, most of the politicians, the teachers, and many more, simply sending MSGs saying that they recognize they exist (nobody thinks transgenders don't exist... of course they exist). But, do you really think all of these things are actually on their side? No, they're not, for many selfish reasons... like money and creating an excuse to make them seem like a good company. Now, let's say that they do all really care... why only care for certain groups? Why not everyone? No matter how popular, no matter what the media says, no matter... just simply care about humanity. Stop separating everyone in groups and start caring about everybody. Not just trans, not just women, not just blacks. But all and every single human. Now, I'd think it'd be safe to say that they'd care for real at that point. But then, I don't care about having a useless MSG being sent to everyone that says that tens of millions of religious people have been killed because of communism and fascism. Now there's something that I always say to people I have discussions with, which is that we don't need to accept each others' opinions, but we do need to respect each other as humans. I, as a human, am nice to everyone I meet no matter their point of view on things... but as soon as I say that I think LGBT simply doesn't make sense and that having powerful organizations backing them is not a good thing because I think gender dysphoria really does exist and that brainwashing young kids into any kind of cults/religions/groups isn't moral, many people on the internet seem to label me as a white male supremacist that only cares about himself. Look, at the end of the day, when I play a game, or watch TV, or read a book, it's because I want to escape from the politics of our world. That is, except when I am willing to have discussions like this... because debates are a healthy thing for society.

Exactly! You get it!

and the two of you don't...
