  • What do you mean "It's Microsoft not Bungie?"

  • If Microsoft were not removing them from the pass you would have no issue.

How do you figure? As I see it, Microsoft has no control over your game or monetization procedures. If Foresaken is going free in a matter of days than please explain to me why I have to buy it now when I have been renting it for almost an entire year. What does that have to do with Microsoft?

  • You rented it from Microsoft, key word there is rented. For whatever reason, the deal between Microsoft and Bungie is ended, therefore you can no longer rent that content. So now you are left with the options of losing access to said content or buying it. Rentals are not forever. Many games come and go off the game pass, Destiny is just one more game to leave. Forsaken going free is a bit of a misnomer, while you will be able to access the content for free, that is only the content that is moving to the dcv, any existing content after the dcv will require the Forsaken pack. If you rent things, you should not ever expect them to be forever, as your access can always change based on decisions of the ones renting it to you.

  • Yeah, I was pretty sure you wouldn't have a snappy come back for that one. I am guessing you are not on game pass. Perhaps you should have more compassion to your loyal fellow guardians that are on xbox game pass having to shell out more retroactively or lose all the hard work they have put into this game otherwise. Better luck next time.

  • I actually do use gamepass, I just understand how it works. Not sure what compassion you are expecting, if you failed to understand how gamepass worked and are now upset that titles are being rotated off the pass, I do not see that as a situation that requires compassion. You made the decision to spend $15 a month over the past year instead of buying the expansions, if you only played d2 from that pass then it was not a wise choice. I play several games from the pass, mostly Microsoft owned titles that seem to stay longer or at least longer than I tend to play them so the overall cost is negligible over all. I also bought most of D2 expansions prior to them coming to the pass and just bought the beyond light expansion since it is leaving. So, in short, not sure what you are looking for here, others have given you the real answers to solve your issue but if you are looking for a shoulder to cry on about your choices, thats not me dog.

  • uhh.... yeah. Those abilities are bound to ownership of Beyond Light. If you chose to rent Beyond Light via the GamePass, then you also chose to rent the abilities/subclasses. Not sure why this seems to be a hard concept for you to understand.

  • I can't believe I am doing this but under the circumstances, why not. This I do understand. Understanding Bungie's latest sales practices are less clear and coherent than they're storyline. But besides that holding one's "earned" stuff ransom is poor business practice. It is like you rented a house from me to live in. During the year(s) you live there you decided to upgrade the lighting by putting in fancy chandeliers and sconces (ceiling and wall lighting) and kitchen appliances. Upon moving out you decide that you are going to remove your property and replace it with mine that you originally removed, but I say no. Even through it is yours I demand that you keep it in because you where only a renter and have no more rights to the property. How would that make you feel? I can tell you this, according to all 50 states in America it would be illegal for me to do that. Not to mention it being extremely cheesy. I am not sure of your ability to conceptualize this but I can tell you as a fully grown, mature, and successful adult and business owner all of the above is bad business practice.

  • This example doesn’t apply. The landlord (bungie) was who provided the aforementioned upgrades (subclasses) to the home (game). Therefore, upon the termination of the rental period (gamepass) you do not keep the upgrades.

  • Your example is flawed. You have provided nothing that Bungie or Microsoft is removing. The abilities, story, subclass, all of that and more was included with your rent. If you rented a house, the landlord upgraded the light fixtures, windows, doors, etc, you do not get to keep those if they decide they no longer wish to rent the house to you. Further more, if you read most leases, upgrades to the home done by the tenant are usually forbidden for this reason or have specific clauses that state that any upgrades to the home that attach to the home must remain. I have added shade screens to 2 rental homes and had to leave them when I left due to them being attached to the home. If you are a business owner than surely you understand the concept of renting equipment, if you rent it, you do not get to keep any part of it when the rental is done. You should also understand the cost to benefit calculations that businesses complete when entering into or extending contracts. End of the day the agreement between Bungie and Microsoft was seen as no longer profitable to continue. This may be due to Bungie not seeing enough of a return on investment from gamepass players or Microsoft seeing it as a potential conflict of interest with their Halo launching the day after Destiny is leaving the pass. So as a business owner, it is time for you to complete your own cost analysis and see if it is worth your money to continue with the game.

  • ..Stupid example...the things you earned like weapons or exotics will still be available to you a.k a " home appliances upgrade " everything else goes with the house ..Apart from that you should have known that this will happen eventually....investing time in a rented game ??? seriously.????..No sympathy for fools

  • What you fail to realize is I am not Bungie. This is an open forum when anyone is able to help and answer questions. So ranting at me means nothing. You asked I gave you your answer.
