Slightly off topic but... Exotic weapons should make Orbs regardless of Catalyst, Catalysts drop bonus Orbs (in PvE)

Or, hear me out - each Exotic weapon should have a Champion mod of some sort built into it.

Yeah, was not an alternate option, it was meant to be added on top of the orb generation as per normal.

Yeah i wasnt sure if you were meaning that as an alternate, Exotics should feel like Exotics when you select them. The benefits should out weigh the selection of a Legendary imo.

agreed, most legendary weapons outperform most Exotics anyway - I use a handful of exotics, in some loadouts I don't even use an exotic at all as the perks on the legendary weapons I have are just better in my opinion, to cater to my playstyle. not much of a PVP guy, so the exotics I use are generally just High DPS weapons etc. - but the Seasonal mods change the Meta - I have a funny feeling next Season is going to be Sniper Mods, So will need to dust of WOTM.

I dont even use Exotics in PvP anymore unless its a weapon i wanna have fun with, i have a blast with Tarrabah but thats its really :/

I'm on the fence with this because on one side you have legendary weapons that only drop orbs if masterworked which is akin to having an exotic with catalyst however there are still some exotics that don't have catalysts so where does it leave them.

Imho an exotic slot being used should be more than enough reason for an exotic to drop orbs regardless of it having a Catalyst or not.

It will be interesting to see in upcoming updates what Bungie does in this regard because as ZombieQahnaarin mentions, it's being considered already.

I seen in a TWAB awhile ago they were working on all exotics dropping orbs catalyst or not. I thought we were getting it this season, guess it’s on the back burner.
