Finally Watched Star Wars Visions.

Gotta say, they should NOT have led with The Duel. That episode is insane. I literally cannot get over how good it was, besides some wacky pacing here and there. May get the book. The rest were either mediocre or somewhat decent, like The Elder, The Ninth Jedi, and whatever the last one was called, can’t remember. T0-B1, on one hand, hurt because I’m a big Star Wars fan and seeing established canon over decades being destroyed so quickly was rough, but on the other the animation was charming and the music was really interesting. I think what hurt a lot of these episodes is how you could take out whatever defining Star Wars trait the studios brought in to link it with Star Wars (like Stormtroopers and lightsabers in Lop and Och), and have a perfectly normal animated one-off. Great art regardless, but I think that held it back. Tatooine Rhapsody was bad. No reason to care for the characters, and the music it was centered around didn’t stand out as being particularly good (which I suppose is just subjective, but I’ve had a bunch of people who have watched it agree with me, so I think there’s at least a little merit in that). Going back to the Ninth Jedi, I can’t say it was particularly good in comparison to the rest (especially The Duel), but it felt very… Star Wars. I don’t really know how to put it, besides it felt like it could definitely fit into a Star Wars plot easily. Juro (the guy with the robot) was badass. The animation was clean too. Anyways, that’s it. Going over all of them would make this too long, so I just went over the ones I found the most interesting.

The Duel was a neat take. Since Star Wars was inspired by those black and white samurai movies, it's very fitting that they make a short that is basically a black and white samurai movie. It would've been great if only the lady kept her hijab thing on cause HOLY that hair style is ugly. Good twist tho Tatooine Rhapsody is basically if Cal Kestis from Fallen Order became a bad singer instead of a scrapper. And he looked like a kid, sounded like an adult... The Twins was very Trigger Studios. It also seemed as if A New Hope was the only Star Wars movie they watched and they wanted to show it by cramming references. but that's fine, neat graphics, not so neat plot. (It would've been better if they kept the helmets on and didn't just have an xwing in the frickin hangar) Note: one of them is basically a Luke clone with an xwing, and the two MCs are twins... Village Bride was one of my favorites. Good music and clankers. Plus, appealing character designs, such as Hot Professor Oak, Ichigo after rejection, and evil bald dude #4 Ninth Jedi had some cool action scenes. The twist was actually pretty cool. Nice how the kid doesn't know how to wield a lightsaber cause he's never seen one... I guess. they should've killed off the father with something like a red light and a blaster going off... multiple times... I won't go off about how the girl is basically a Mary Sue... but- T0-B1.... I like how the art is detailed and it's like some Astro Boy/optimistic kids show. But I'm pretty sure being a Jedi does not just mean you have the Force and wield a lightsaber... cool fight though. The Elder is the other favorite of mine. While it may not be the best art it does have a more believably canon story, to me at least. The characters sound great in the English version and dialogue isn't cheesy. Plus it's Prequel Era I'm sure which is great. Fight scenes aren't too fancy, and the Master actually incorporates turning off the lightsaber in order to win, and the old man actually looks scary. There's even rain evaporating on the sabers. I like how the Sith was powerful enough that a distraction was necessary to beat him. And the names are funnily generic. Heh, D a n Lop & Ochō is... well it's great animation for one. The plot is a bit fast paced tho, and the father is like "bring the fam together again" and Lop apparently takes that as "try to kill your sister"? Why'd the hot one have to become evil... Obligatory "furry episode" call out Akakiri is a fever dream that gets better before gettting worse again and then confusing. Animation looks like MS Paint on some frames, or maybe that's my memory. The two stooges were nice tho. Funny. The whole sith visions looked more like flash backs to me though... All in all, I liked 2.5/9 eps Village Bride, The Elder, and the action and twist of Ninth Jedi. I'd like to see more of VB and maybe something like Elder again. If you look closely you'll notice my favorites are closer to the Prequel Era. I just wish there was an episode with clone troopers ;-; That woulda been sick
I noticed there are almost always droid companions in these episodes... also, take a swig every time a character says the word, "hope"
