For example: 1 ascendant shard - > 10 prisms
1 prism -> 10 cores

This is the best solution for the community. Maybe if we whinge about it enough, Bungie will ignore it for that reason.

You can already do this at a reduced rate by masterworking and dismantling armor.

Yes I'm aware, but it also costs glimmer and legendary shards which, with trials and the umbral decoder, is an expensive trade.
