I think everything in this game is designed to extend your play time. That’s all it is. With RNG it’s easy for them bc they can say “hey .. you may get something first try”, which is true. But the reality is that people have to run lost sectors 20 times to get an exotic and other people have 80 clears on DSC and never got EoT. The consequence is that they play more and also keep dragging people into activities that don’t need to play them anymore etc, so it’s a snowball effect where everyone just plays more in the end.

Of course it is. MMO rules. Every expansion your gear becomes second or third best and you look like a newb wearing last expansion’s best. Probably why I’m more immune to the sweatfest. Cut my teeth on EverQuest and had college and a full time job to worry about so could never put in the time required. Now I just play when I can and do what I can but I don’t have the best gear or the fanciest exotics and I likely never will. I got the radiant dance machines on my first run through and I think it was the universe saying, “here, bro, you need these”. Haven’t gotten crap since so…

Seems like good MMO's do this right. People don't complain when the new loot is better. WoW for example creates so much new content in a DLC the players gladly put aside their old gear and have fun leveling with the new content. Bungie recycles as much as possible so you are stuck grinding the same old activities to level and they sunset a bunch of gear without providing decent replacements. I don't understand why I can still use Gnawing Hunger but I can't use the Blast Furnace I worked so hard for.

Had a nice kick to it and a solid look. Another reason why I just stopped the grind and play. Whatever drops is what drops. No more Poopsocking. I actually got a new nightfall rocket launcher. Thing is complete trash.

Yeah, I think this is the attitude people need to have when playing D2. Don't expect to be rewarded for your time and don't expect the rewards you get to last. Good gear gets the nerf.

I’m gonna stop grinding this game. I’ve spent a lot of time doing this and had a lot of good times as well. But overall it’s just too time-consuming.

Once I stopped worrying about grinding and just started playing the game like any other game I started having fun again. Also avoiding anything PVP-related unless I get a weird jones for it and the rare bit of free time will I pop onto Crapsicle to get the pinnacle.

Yeah. Sounds about right. I think everyone would agree too. I would’ve agreed a year ago. Just didn’t act accordingly.
