Unfortunately this is inevitable my dude. Granted im not saying it should or should not happen. I personally feel bad for the guy when i say that, don't get me wrong. Trials isn't normally a game mode where a new player will see s lot of success in. Keep in mind, im not trying to say they should get stomped on to the point of feeling powerless at all. However, if your s new player, who's not familiar with the maps, and simultaneously solo queuing, that stuff is unfortunately almost garenteed to happen. Almost everybody in trials has a loadout, mindset, and map knowledge needed to attempt to have successful games. If somebody doesn't have any or all of those, they will struggle. It is a competitive game mode, so what else would you expect? None of this is intended to insult that individual your vouching for. Im simply advocating for you and anybody like thst person to consider the following. Keep in mind idk if you do or don't do any of this, since i don't know you. 1- Get a loadout your comfortable with. 2- learn the maps. 3- find a group of buds you can get along with in pvp, even if your going to solo que again. If either of you feel you like or want to be competitive, then saround yourself with people like you, regardless if you team up or solo que. Nobody has to be a 1 man army. We only learn from mistakes, be it our own, or others. I hope this feedback helps my dude. To recap, no negativity is intended when i say any of this, however when not having a loadout your comfortable with, map knowledge, or a group of buds "regardless of solo queing", players can and will easily get stomped on in trials. Im not saying it should or should not happen, but i feel bad for the person your vouching for. Most importantly of all, i hope they learn those 3 important details. Regardless of how younor they may feel, take care, stay safe, and for the communities sake, Eyes up guardians. Become legend.

What you're saying makes a lot of sense, but I don't think it applies to Trials as much as Iron Banner. Iron Banner is rewarding enough that when you're new, being bottom rung still doesn't feel that bad. Trials is super draconian and definitely not for everyone. Where the issue comes about is how Bungie is treating Trials; they want to make it more accessible. Hardcore PvPers say it's "endgame PvP content" when Bungie is trying to say it's not. As a result there's a lot of -blam!- and moaning about trials since the people Bungie is trying to lure in are taking the bait only to find out its poisoned. Bungie needs to start treating the game mode like endgame PvP, and if it dies as a result, just let it die. It's a waste of resources to keep open otherwise when they could be spending that time and energy to improving and making content for the average player base, and increasing the playability and marketability of the game.

  • You could say trials is more rewarding than iron banner nowadays tbh. With that given, i genuinely feel the above arguments apply to iron banner too. Especially when people bring out specific gear that ensures a advantage on those without a plan, resulting in lots of mercy games regardless of freelance. In terms of the whole endgame pvp verses welcoming playist tidbit, bungie has had this approach with litterilly everything they've ever released since vault of glass first launched. As painfully confusing as it may appear to be, bungies been trying to find the best of both worlds for litterilly 7 years. As much as i wish they didn't, or didn't think that way as much, this entire game would be as dead as gambit if that wasn't working out for them. Meaning it can work for trials. Idk how, but it can and will provided bungie continues to care for it. Since it appears we can relate on the fact they try desperatly to please everybody, yet if it wasn't overall successful for them, i believe confidently that "Bungie trying to please everyone is a good thing", and all who say otherwise, including myself since i wish they didn't, mearly have a difference in opinion, and are sadly wrong. Give bungie till a season and a half after whitch queen. If that mindset of theirs continues it's normal pattern, the game will take a big hit around then. If not, they learned when pleasing everyone is appropriate, and when pleasing everyone isn't appropriate. Do take all this with a grain of salt my dude. Been around this game too long. Only 2 reasons i haven't quit, is my friends, and learning the hard way nobody should only play 1 game all the time. This community is great, and destiny can easily be enjoyed more, when you deliberately take a break, instead of drip fed content forcing you to take a break like the seasonal model. Thanks for hearing what i have to say. Im genuinely happy your not ranting about potential nerfs like most of this forum, in place of actual discussion.
