I honestly wouldn't mind if its ammo nerf would he reversed. Most bosses in the game have tiny crit points and move around so much so its very difficult consistently hit crits, especially on controller. Not to mention being hammered by the boss an everything else shooting at you flinching you all over the place.
Whisper hasn't had a place ever since xeno was introduced due to the fact that the damage is similar and xeno can hold more shots and you don't need crits to do full damage. Whisper needs the catalyst and you cant miss any crits in order to keep up. Xeno is a better option in pretty much every aspect. Whisper definitely needs something

Agree but there are still some big bosses like VOG templar who don't move and would be trivialised with infinite whisper. I know Templar is pretty trivial already but you get the idea. Whisper and Darci to kinetic/energy slots with special ammo is better.

I almost agree with you on Templar. When my group attempted day one vog, I actually was trying to ger by with whisper for old times sake. Thought Templar would definitely be the best for it. But once again, he lays so much fire down on you that being able to consistently land crits is near impossible with how much flinch you take. Not to mention the containment shield showing up and breaking your streak. Found that I was at more of a disadvantage using it. You got everything else right on the nose tho.

Reconstruction vorpal succession is arguably still better and as he says, no punishment at all for missing any of your 8 shots. Praedith,'s with rewind rounds is similar. Darci and Whisper have been left so far behind they are outperformed by special ammo legendaries.

Also the sniper nerfs since S12. What good is potential dps when it's so punishing to use it?

So a weapon that requires the use of another weapon to keep up. Or you could just use xeno and do better in general. Also, can't say I've ever had anyone in the last 2 years say "alright I we got whisper, who's got div?"
