I love how all these people are saying its fine. If it was fine, shouldn’t people actually be using it? I have not seen a single whisper since it got nerfed. So no its not fine, stop being delusional. Whisper is a heavy sniper thats not even able to one shot body in crucible, it’s literally a special weapon. Its a special weapon in the heavy slot for absolutely no reason. Why would anyone want to use whisper over the real heavies like 1k voices or anarchy? Whisper was only a true heavy with its infinite ammo, its a special weapon at the moment so no reason to keep it in the heavy slot.

It’s kind of hard to agree with you when we have mods the buff weapon types. No one really used 1k until now. It’s all based on what the meta changes too each season.

If bungie removed those mods, no one would suddenly start using whisper.

But this is an entirely sensible suggestion. It makes the gun viable again without power creep. Reconstruction vorpal succession is a legendary kinetic sniper which is just better than whisper. Better than an exotic heavy. Praedith's arguably better as well. We don't want broken guns -and potentially infinite ammo can be broken. We just want to be able to use a variety of weapons in challenging content. Currently, if you pull Darci or Whisper into hard pve content you are hurting your fireteam. What is your suggestion which is better than moving to special ammo? OP's suggestion avoids power creep and has no knock on unintended consequences.

Power creep? Power is supposed to gradually go up, if you didn’t want power creep the sensible solution is nerfing ALL guns to the same level. Its not a sensible solution its a simple excuse to move ut to the special slot because players like the gun. Same was said for queen breakers bow. These guns only need a damage boost for being exotic snipers (whisper and darci) and the fact this post ignores the other Exotic Heavy Sniper is showing of what they really want. The only reason its not used in endgame content atm is because most encounters are Close->Mid range. So why use a heavy sniper when a shot gun does better or a heavy fusion does better? Gradual power increases is a normal step in making a game, its just making one thing massively OP then making another gun to top that gun causes power creep. Buffing a Heavy Sniper to be in line with other heavys precision weapons (aka sleeper) is the correct action

It doesn’t avoid power creep, buffing the gun to be in line with Sleeper isn’t “power creep” the issue is that every time a sniper buff/nerf happens (which are meant to affect special snipers not heavies) Whisper and Darci are affected. They aren’t the primary targets but when a buff happens they suffer from this. There is nothing pointless about this conversation other then Bungie wont ever read this stuff

Whisper is supposed to be this huge amazing heavy hitting sniper but it cant even one shot body someone in pvp. In pve it behaves no different than any other sniper apart from a slight consistent dps die to its perk. Whisper would greatly benefit if it was moved to the special slot, and yes usage is a big deal. Just because you believe the weapon is good, you would be the 1% that feels that way. You are far outvoted when it gets to whisper. If something is good, its used, straight up. No one used nova warp for a very long time until the recent buffs. Not one person out there wants to use a garbage weapon or subclass, who wants to be at a disadvantage?

Explosive Light rockets will probably be PVE meta...which is actually perfect for Whisper to become an energy weapon lol

My logic? Idk what world you live in but the internet exist. Youtube exist, I don’t need a weapon to know if its still viable to use in end game content. If you want to argue to me about stuff go ahead but at least make a good argument.

The amount of damage that thing was putting out was obviously busted. The only reason everyone is using 1k voices right now is because of particle deconstruction. Once thats gone by next season, if bungie doesn’t add some other random busted perk like deconstruction then anarchy is going to be a top heavy again.

Anarchy is still good. I use it occasionally with energy fusion and for spawn trapping
