Why do people congratulate pure luck?

“I finally got Vex after 50 clears.” Ok cool. By 50 clears you could practically do it with your eyes closed. You didn’t adapt to a new challenge. You didn’t figure out or do anything new. You just did the same thing as many times as it took until you got lucky. Or conversely, you did it very few times, meaning minimal effort, and got lucky. Neither warrant congratulations. A time gated RNG drop isn’t worthy of congratulations. Stop congratulating mediocre reward systems and perpetuating the idea that this reward mechanic has any redeeming qualities. It is literally just luck. Nobody did anything special. In fact, how easy something gets after 50 clears is a trivialization of the activity. Simply getting lucky is not an accomplishment. There are cosmetics that require much more challenge to get.

  • Everything in life involves luck bud, prove me wrong. Should we just do away with the word congratulations altogether to appease you?
