There will be a collective minds strike pack for ps5 eventually, and peripherals that will let you have semi auto at half pull, full auto at full pull, things like that, it's only a matter of time. I'm just saying, don't convince your self there won't be mod controllers.

  • Nothing can be done against mods that dont operate in between console and controller. But things can be done such as a dualsense requirement to indirectly ban devices that operate in between the console and controller (xim, cronus, titan, etc).

  • The devices you listed are typically called cheating devices. They can also be used by disabled gamers to help reduce the burden of playing games with a disability. Bungie may ban them but I doubt Sony it's self will do anything more than say they aren't formally supported and you use them at your own risk. Sony isn't going to actively obstruct anything at all that can be argued could be used to help disabled players because doing so invites a lawsuit that they do not want to risk, because while it's no harm if they win, if they lose it could turn the whole industry upside down. There are certain lawsuits that the small chance of loss is not worth the risk because of the damage said loss could inflict. This is one of them so they're just going to say "play at your own risk."

Sony has already indirectly banned 3rd party (cheat) devices. Every ps5 game that lists “adaptive triggers required” on the psn store must be played with a dualsense. Also, Epic decided to ban these devices themselves without sony in both the ps4 and ps5 ports of fortnite (they also pulled support for last gen version on next gen console). Also, the dualsense api is “uncrackable” and adaptors cannot emulate it unless it is cracked. I dont believe anything is uncrackable but if it really is then 3rd party devices will forever be banned on ps5 games.

  • What epic does and what Sony does are different things. That requirement from Sony doesn't mean what you think it does. It just means any of those devices you listed has to make the console think the input is coming from a dual sense. Which the ps4 version is already emulating ps4 controllers. There will always be ways of circumventing restrictions. But if this is really a hill you think Sony should die on *shrugs* just be ready to see games that like to call them selves "hard core" or "high skill" just disappear quite suddenly if things go sideways.

  • Sony wont be lifting the dualsense requirement and they must have a reason for making a “uncrackable” api for the dualsense. Until its cracked, emulation is impossible. Hopefully bungie adds adaptive trigger support because that will cause sony to force the dualsense requirement which leads to every non-dualsense device being banned.
