Araxinus briefly glances over the note, and sighs. “Why? Everything was normal before Wolfkeeper decided to bring me here.” He throws it behind and heads out.

Once he arrives, A man stands within a massive door. His body is covered with a cloak, but his face is horribly scarred, and his eyes shift between a rainbow of colors. “Ah! A soldier! Welcome!”
-
“Oh great a nutjob.’ He mutters.
-
“Hm? Can’t hear ya! I’m here to show you this wonderful ship I call home!”
-
“Sure thing!” He says, matching his enthusiasm, with a tone that sounds like mockery but still sincere.
-
“Okay! Follow me!” He walks off into the ship.
-
He follows him.
-
“So…what exactly are you?”
-
“Childhood myth come to life.”
-
“…hm? How exactly were you brought to life?”
-
“Well parents used to tell their kids stories about me so they would behave, and I guess at some point enough of them were afraid of me to cause me to become real? I don’t know how it works.”
-
“…interesting.” A drone flies over, and he whispers to it.
-
Well that’s not good. He thinks.
-
They keep walking. “Sorry for the long walk, but we’re close!”
-
“The walk doesn’t bother me.”
-
“…you sure?”
-
“Yes. I don’t feel physical exertion.”
-
“That’s…interesting.”
-
“Not really. Does your shadow ever tire when walking with you?”
-
He shakes his head. “Huh…no.”
-
“So there you go.” He goes silent.
-
“So…your shadow can tire itself out?”
-
“No, the entire point was your shadow never tires, and I am a shadow.”
-
“That’s…hm. Odd.” He mumbles
-
Araxinus ignores the comment and keeps walking.
-
“So…are you shadows exactly…common?”
