Hi there. This is a known issue with the quest not going to the Quests archive when abandoned. The only way to reobtain it on characters that have abandoned it is to get the quest from Xur on a character that hasn't abandoned it and complete it. It then becomes available again on all characters the following week.
If you've abandoned it with all 3 characters though, then the only current workaround is to delete and create a new character to pick up the quest.

Hi, I did not delete the exotic quest from any of my characters but it was automatically abandon with a new expansion. Are you saying I am unable to obtain unless I delete one of my leveled up characters? This makes no sense.

Thank you! I know I deleted it only on my Titan, but wasn't able to obtain it on any characters. I did recently delete my Hunter to redo the character, so I'll check tmrw and see if I can reobtain it!
