Interesting but it may be reasonable to assume still that the female individual in the hive would be more open to reasoning then its male counterpart. Put then again we must remember hive are a fluid race changing gender at will.

I cant find anything stating that they can change their gender at will. like at all.

Wizards are all female knights are male once a acolite consumes enough tribute they can choose either gender when they metamorphose to the next stage. The hive gods all can assume any roll due to the massive tribute the aquire Edit add on this is why oryx is transgender it was a female now is male. Thrall and acolites are generally genderless because they arnt mature.

although apparently, all hive start out as female and change/stay when a certain requirement is reached im think the acolytes may be the transition stage.
