Pet is a rather interesting term. The Hive worms seem to possess just as much intelligence and wit as any other sentient being. While the in-game depiction of Hive makes them seem like brutish uncivilized creatures, we have to remember their vast repositories of knowledge (World's Grave) and even their deep understanding of the arcane. Savathun spoke to a Thrall of her plans and it seemed to follow along without much issue. I have no reason to believe that the worms are any less intelligent as they, as a race, have learned to con other races into feeding them in a perpetual downhill sttuggle. Xol, Eir, Akka and the other worms are just the upgraded/ascended versions of what these larvae once were. Having a "pet" worm would probably be as damning as having the dead one the Osmium King once possessed. I imagine we would hear their whispers constantly just as with having Ahamkara bones.

  • But what if it was dropped on the head like goku? Lol i do understand the nature of both idea consuming monsters such as ahmakara n hive worms but the idea of thinking that every single one of any speicies is pure evil n wishes harm is a fact that i dont abide. However the posibility that encountering such a flexable being like such in an enviroment as the hive is very improbable. Often times you would assume that open minded individuals are weeded out. Theres absolutly no way of controling such a creature as if to domesticate it. But if you had some way of imprinting i feel that might be the best bet of developing any kinship.

  • Back when I wanted to make my own Youtube channel I was going to do dives into the unexplored areas of Hive lore such as their social norms and religious taboos. Mentioning outcasts and free thinkers certainly brought this back to my mind. There were two Hive Knights who were friends with one another and Oryx punished them for their friendship by Taking one. Alak-Hul was punished for his love of Verok. I certainly imagine that any deviation from the Hive/Worm dogma doesn't bode well for individuals. Its really something to think about. Pacifist Hive or intellectuals who don't want to march forward with the others.

  • I love the hive lore about how they find necromancy sacrilegious. That’s actually what the pit of heresy is. Some hive who were so desperate for revenge they were willing to be kicked out of society and resurrect the dungeon boss just to kill us.

  • Truly sounds like savathun. She seemes to be the freest thinker of them all. Shes not a pasafist but she hates the worms. This fact alone that a hive god would wish to seperate from the imortality n magics givin on their own accourd tels me that they are just slaves to such a power of the worms as are the worms to their hunger. N so was nockras as well deemed as a heretic for his beleif. He was evil of course but the point is he thought as a complete individual. As did many of the hive from hashladoon. But ultimatly they fell to sword logic in the end. Freeing such a individual from its hunger or slavery could cause a spiral evolution of that individual. No longer would they see the unit but only their own welfare n survival n perhaps if the hive need socilization like the human race some form of safe trust in another individual is required for survival. It is known that the hive were all individuals once not different from us. Perhaps they grow tired of the entrapment of the worms. N perhaps the worms tire of being hungry.

  • This is what makes me wonder how the Witch Queen expansion will play out. Savathun and her followers, the Lucent Brood, seem to be freed from their worms. They aren't Hive anymore. They would be the truest thing to Krill that we have ever seen outside of a lore book. With no worm hunger driving them, I wonder why they fight? Is conquest all they know, or arr they honong their skills for a greater enemy? Mithrax said that he imagines even Hive fighting beside House Light one day. This seems that it could be the start of that union. I would hate to see such a unique concept just be thrown away.

  • A unique concept for sure but story wise i doubt will play out as we hope. Savathun is the queen of lies n she may pray on our ability to forgive to her advantage. That fact alone sets her aside from being a worthy ally. Most likely she die as the others and her brood will be absorbed into the rest. Or... what everyone seens to have completly forgotten is that Nocras exists still. Now weither he serves her still or will become his own god will still be seen. He could become a threat once again as taniks has. But all in all something truly devistating has to happen to turn the hive against the darkness. Their lives n culture is too entwined with the darkness. But will savathun escape truly unscathed from the darkness? Or will it be futile in the face of the army of gaurdians. How can she possibly convince us not to kill her. She is essentualy loki. No one should trust loki.

  • It’s possible that could be the secret special ending to the expansion. We don’t kill savathun but join her. The only issue with that is it wouldn’t explain why we can still fight the hive after the story is over.

  • The hive can still exist to fight as a different faction just as the house of dusk exists and the house of light. It seems very unlikely however we would be so fortunate to ally with savathun. The higher probability would be a cease fire. The enemy of my enemy is temporarily my friend. But savathun should never be trusted. Thats what shes counting on.
