Hi there!
Collections were introduced during the warmind dlc.
Everything that was in your inventory at that point or you have acquired after collections were introduced, was unlocked in your collections. Everything that is not in your collections now didn't meet the requirements above and there is currently no way to unlock it.

They became unticked in my collections around the same time the legendary polaris lance weapon did, even when I still had them in my inventory. Now that the legendary weapon is now fixed, my legs are still not and I was really hyped to have them for my hunter when armour synth came out.
