If they did that they would revert back to needing to have your highest gear equipped for any additional progress. I prefer this method were top values are calculated no matter where they are on your account. If they would just implement a little different system for drops, one that was a little more knockout focused. No one should ever get 3 Pinnacle drops in the same slot in a row. I like how they did Prophecy, each week is a new drop guaranteed until armor set is finished.

Sometimes I still do that. When popping a prime or doin an activity that will award a pinnacle on completion. Now once you hit pinnacle cap it don’t matter but during the power grind I admit I still make sure all my highest gear is equipped. Sad but true
