This would probably not work. And I mean that from a like logistical stand point. Tractor cannons aren’t a weapon that exists in game world like the scorch cannons. They’re an inventory weapon. Scorched put the canon in a players hand which over rides inventory weapons which can’t be done similarly with tractor cannon. Now they could have a sword game type which might be interesting and chaotic.

  • They could do that. The orbs are world drops so they could spawn them in players hands. Not sure how the shield part would work.

  • But they could just make a tractor cannon into an overriding item in the same manor. Sort of like how other games can make locked loadouts that override your inventory. It would be easy to implement

  • That’s not really true. They have no system to make an over rude of an inventory weapon, only external weapons like swords and scorch cannons which just put the external weapon in your hand. They would have to make a system to over write the actual inventory and what you have which, let’s be honest, would probably delete whatever heavy you had. Also unlike with scorch cannons tractor canons are in a a lot meaning that there’s no reason that you wouldn’t still be able to swap to a primary or secondary. And you could have double exotics if you had an exotic in either the kinetic or energy slot and you’re forcefully given an exotic heavy. It’s not as simple as making what would really be a pointless world drop version of an exotic for a throw away game type. You’re more likely to see a version of scorched that just used one of the in world weapons that are like cannons like the Valkyrie or hive sword which like scorch cannons would simply over ride the inventory system with the external weapon.

  • I guess you didnt listen to what I actually said. I said that they could easily MAKE an item for the game mode. As in take the coding from a sword or cannon, and make a tractor relic item. Simple.

  • And I’m saying no they couldn’t and it would be a stupid thing for them to do. Why make a world drop of an existing weapon for a throw away game type? Scorch cannons already existed so accorded takes no effort, nothing new was made. What your proposing would not only be a stupid thing to do resource wise but would be even dumber because it’s remaking a weapon that’s an inventory weapon for a shits and giggles playlist.

    Ok saying you disagree, and saying they CAN'T do it arent the same thing. It would take next to no resources to add the same coding to the inventory locking of a scorch cannon, to an existing item that would basically be a copy and paste with said coding, for a mode people might enjoy. Seeing as how PvP in this game is just a joke anyways, what does it matter if players offer up ideas? Your opinion here matters as little as the rest of ours so why spend so much energy being negative about someone's idea?

    It would take a lot of resources. Inventory weapons and works weapons aren’t the same thing. They’d be making a completely new entity, a new item in the game which isn’t as simple as you seem to think it is. And no, it’s not an opinion, it’s fact that they couldn’t. It’s Bungie, they can hardly make the exotics function properly in their inventory form. And really any resources being used on making a custom item to a shits and giggles playlist would be a waste of resources. I wasn’t negative to the ops idea, just said it was unlikely and suggested some actually whacky ideas that Bungie could easily do.
