It baffles my mind that they are struggling to make a decent amount of content for expansions while they also have a team devoted to their new IP. I am not going to play Matter. If they end up jumping ship I’ll be pissed

  • They can barely develop destiny effectively and they have a team of people working on a new game. How is that not stupid?

  • I think you need to realise that they will just milk this game now for the last few years with minimal input and resource...it's just how it is.

If they end up jumping ship I’ll be pissed[/quote] I call that mismanagement of priorities. In my point of view, they screwed it up. That's why Activision left them. Game is a leaky ship and Activision was bleeding out for a franchise that didn't give them the return in investment that they expected from a partnership with Bungie. I'm sure Activision was betting big on this franchise, but D2 was a mess and the game lost millions of gamers. All because of mismanagement of priorities. Now, they are trying to salvage this fiasco while probably still working on other future projects. I won't play their future games either because of what they did here. After this, no way I'm gonna trust them. No way!

  • The actual wording from a high up dev was basically Activision wanted 3 games, games bring in big money, expansions don't (especially new naeve players), bungie could only make expansions and therefore didn't fullfill their agreed contract and that's why bungie had to pay activitision to split. Bungie agreed a contract they likely never wanted, to get D1 out the door in 2014. It's very obvious that the next 3 years content for us, originally where supposed to be D3 and is being fed to us over 3-4 years costing us £200 instead of £50. It's also very obvious that bungie where making new games since 2015 and this affected destiny's growth. Parsons said in 2015 that the new project for life after destiny had already begun, and then last year he said they'd been working on 3 new games for over 3 years. These things happen, it is what it is.

When investors leave in the middle of projects, particularly one with a supposedly 10 year life span, it's not looking good both in paper and in practice. That thing you said about how it is affecting Destiny's growth. This community retaliation all over the place are the ripples of that effect. All because of mismanagement. Reap what you sow.
