how does invading in gambit work, canonically?
i mean, when you think about it, it really doesnt make sense. go into a taken portal to emerge taken into an identically world filled with a bunch of different guardians who you kill

Both questions are answered by the same Lore explanation - any and all destinations that no longer exist can be recreated as simulations for Guardians to use through Vex technology. So, it stands to reason, that each team in Gambit goes into a different simulation of an identical location and invading just crosses between the simulations.
