Grandmasters are not out right away. It takes 4 or 5 weeks for them to come out each season. That's the timeline you have to see what the requirements are and the timeline you have to get ready.

  • Why do they go away at the start of the season? Here we are doing GM’s and then the new season hits and they slap some number and time gate them just so we believe there’s more content than there really is. This game’s time gated, drip fed model is so terrible. It makes the game so boring.

  • Lose/Lose situation. Make the grandmaster available right away, people get the weapons and stop playing them long before the season ends or they will complain that it's inaccessible. People complain that there is not enough content. Wait to give drip feed Grandmasters, people say they did not have enough time to prepare and that drip feeding is stupid. People complain that there is not enough content.

  • At least people can enjoy it. Right now by the time they release the season is boring and not even worth playing until next season. At least if they released in the first month the DLC is fresh and people are more invested in the game. The drip fed model is terrible.

You would be nowhere near the light level needed to do a GM if they came out day one. Just because you get bored quickly does not mean the majority of the player based has an issue with GMs coming out halfway through the season.

  • The level requirement to get in or the level requirement to be effective? I ask because getting rid of the requirement to get in solves nothing. You'd still need to grind levels to be able to finish a GM, if you don't you will not get passed the first encounter. Getting rid of the level requirement to be effective would make the enemies easier to kill. Ruins the challenge.

    No no. What I am saying is leveling up should only be for the big September expansion when there's a story and new planet to explore and everything. Let's say you go from 1300-1400 for the new story. Then every season during the year, Grandmasters don't need to keep going up. They can just have a contest mode on and the difficulty for them comes from team makeup, mods, gear, communication, etc. The arbitrary level number in there is unnecessary. Then they can release them earlier before most people are bored of the season. Let us get the new gear sooner so we can actually enjoy it. There's no need to force us to level up every 3 months just to play an activity we are already playing. Here I am in Season of the Chosen doing flawless Grandmasters, now Splicer hits and the game tells me to run around doing old, boring activities to level up again just to do the GM's I was already doing. It's silly and just a waste of time. Grinding up levels isn't a bad thing if the activities you're grinding are fresh and fun. But in Destiny, the level grind hasn't changed in years and the core activities we level up in, are as shallow and boring as they can be. Not to mention they were gutted in Beyond Light. Strikes, Gambit maps, crucible maps, etc. It would be different if the GM's offered a new challenge every season. But they don't. They are the exact same. I am having to re-level up every 3 months to play the same exact mode I was already playing. It's a ridiculous cycle and it's terrible. If you want me to level up again then offer me a NEW challenge. Get me excited to level up and tackle some end game content. Not just the same exact thing with a bigger number. That is as lazy as it can get!
