I'm not understanding how people get their gear to 1320 before they get +20 on the artifact.
You must have been playing something.

They started this season with 1310 light. Less of a grind to get to 1320.

I always felt like it makes sense that doing raids every week got you to the cap faster.

Playing the raid each week on each characters. Without doing weekly challenges. Here is the answer. I reached 1320 on my gear when i was around 14-15 of my artifact

I don't think there will ever be a time where I play raids on each character just to get pinnacle drops. From what I can tell the current system seems to work pretty well considering the variety of people it has to take into consideration.

Its your choice x) To me its funnier and faster to do your 3 raids in 2h-3h or so than playing activities i dont enjoy 3 times per character just for 1 drop

I can understand that. Its just that raids require at least 136 people the last time I checked. My friends list isn't that big.

LFG!?!? I couldn't imagine trying to get a raid team together on lfg. Especially with my complete lack of raid experience.

A lot of players want to teach the raid. Especially VoG as it gives players an emblem. What a lot of people misunderstand about lfg...is that players ask you to Know what to do. But you litteraly just have to learn from a video and you know. Players are just lazy to explain everything, but you still can ask a few questions. Especially vog where you can litteraly disconnect your brain and just kill adds..as its the strategy XD

Watching a video is does not make you kwtd. There is quite the difference between watching a video on a raid, and actually executing it.

Vog is a public event but with 6 players. What do you need to know besides "kill adds" and "shoot oracles if 2 of your team mates arent doing those by themselves already" A video for vog is more than enough and you can ask a few questions in the raid x) For a raid like GoS i understand that a video isnt enough. But honestly...the only revelant raid for Light lvl is vog (aka the main point of the post)

Asking a few questions isnt kwtd. Kwtd means understanding the raid without having to ask question about how mechanics work.

I just recently hit +20 on my artifact but am stuck at 1319 base. I would have been at 1320 a while ago I’m sure, but I have a very bad habit of dismantling my pinnacles right after I get them. I’m on autopilot when I get most loot and dismantle them as most of it have bad rolls, are a duplicate or I just do t need. Unfortunately because of that I trash most of my pinnacles, and then realize back in orbit what I just did. Also, a lot of times when I actually don’t trash my pinnacle, it’s a duplicate and the same level as what I have equipped. I really need to get better at locking the loot immediately and inspect everything before trashing.

I do that too. Good news is, the game registers the pinnacle drop. You don't have to equip it. You're only losing the roll, not the power.

Yeah, accidentally deleting something you wanted always sucks. I did it yesterday when I was clearing out my vanguard tokens.

I don't see that as odd. My gear has been at 1320 for weeks now but I hit +20 this morning while doing some unforgettable crap.

That's strange. I hit +20 a few weeks ago and just hit 1320 yesterday. I must be doing something wrong.

just bad RNG on the pinnacle grind it sounds like. i hit 1320 a few days ago and only at +19 on artifact. almost at +20...

I think its actually that I play solo and skip whole weeks of pinnacle grind. So, overall its looking like the system works pretty well.
