I've had zero issues with performance in D2 until recently. I've been running the game on maxed settings, at 1440p, 144hz, no problem at all. Work has been hectic the last 2 weeks or so, and I haven't played D2 since then. I started playing this past Friday again, and noticed I started having some rather significant perf hits (drops of 30-50fps). The worst drops are in places like override. My system is a monster, and there's really no reason I should be having perf issues of any kind.
CPU: Ryzen 9 5900x
GPU: ASUS TUF 3080 Gaming OC
Memory: 32GB Corsair Dominator RGB 3600mhz
Drive: Sabrent Rocket PCIe Gen4 NVMe 1TB
Mobo: ASUS Strix X570-E Gaming
All system drivers were updated 2 months ago, with the exception of the GPU drivers, which I updated a few days ago (driver version 471.11).
I also noticed issues with D2, where I get what looks/feels like screen tearing even at 144fps locked, both with and without vsync/fps lock or even gsync enabled. Again, none of this was happening several weeks ago. I'm kind of at a loss here. It's definitely noticeable ingame, especially during Override. Dropping from 144fps down to 90fps feels really awful, comparable to dropping from 60fps to 30fps on a 60hz display.
Yeah it's almost unplayable. I have a i7 8700k, rtx 2080, and 32 gb of ram. I don't understand it. I to run probably 110-125 fps now I'm lucky to break past 40
