No, dredgens arent evil. But they dont follow the rules of the city. Mostly because they want to avoid having another dredgen yor.
Following the path of yor is dangerous, and some can...fall into the wrong way of the path of yor.
The drifter just gives the title to piss them off.

Well actually yes they were, but not the original ones The dredgens was actually a trap for Guardians who would use the light for evil. Shin malphur actually founded the shadows of yor to lure wayward Guardians and Kell them all in one fell swoop The original few dredgens that created the group weren't evil, but the others who joined in later absolutely were. But they're dead now save for Shin and his friends

Well, the evil ones fell into the wrong part in the path of yor. You will need to cut me some slack here, its a complicated part of the lore to explain.
-
Oh it absolutely is, trust me I'm not blaming anyone for getting it wrong. I'm positive I myself don't even understand the full story But from what I understand, the shadows of yor were basically a trap to lure secretly evil Guardians to their demise, all orchestrated by Shin and his buddies It's a shame tbh, I liked the idea of dredgens basically being the Sith of Destiny. I don't really like how this story turned out
-
Well, i do like the twist of shin becoming a dredgen. And you cant say it isnt smart on his part.
-
Yeah, I just... I always saw shin as the foil to the light. The way you show how the light can be destructive and cruel like the darkness Kinda like "this is what happens when you go full dark and this is what happens when you go full light. You need a balance"
-
Yeah, i can see that. I see that more as aunors kind of thing. Or shayura. But they arent as famous as our gunslinger.
-
Yeah Aunor is the new representative of that idea But she was only introduced in season of the drifter
