Doesn’t anyone main or use Burning Maul in pvp?

We all love bottom tree hammers, middle tree Striker, and the bubble but does anyone main burning maul in pvp? I feel like it’s a few good tweak from being perfect. I would like for the spin to be taken away and replace it with the suncharge ability on top tree hammers. The slam could be slightly faster and fire tornadoes should pull you in if you jump above them. Do that and burning maul would be top tier.

 • I absolutely love middle tree sunbreaker in general, However, in PvP it requires you to approach fights in a very awkward way and mostly ends up requiring you to run a cheese build to make it work (Unless you're an absolute god at PvP where pretty much anything works). The main problem with middle tree is that your power budget is basically all put into your throwing hammer, a very clunky and awkward tool to use. Very punishing if you make a mistake and not really rewarding unless you stack up and your build happens to compliment it. Let's say you're running wormgod caress, you get one kill by shooting someone then finishing them off with a quick hammer, cool, now for the next 5 seconds (Due to wormgod and roaring flames), your following hammers will 1 tap a guardian. Sounds great, right? Well, the issue is that after that first kill you have to make sure there's not many people near that person, and in case there are, that you manage to win the exchange with whatever, be it managing to reach the hammer to throw it, or just shooting them to death. Now here's the biggest issue. You kill someone with your hammer, or grenade, whatever you want. Now you have to retrieve the little shit and that usually means putting yourself in awkward positions where people can just shoot you, and in case you were low from the prior engagement, good luck healing yourself as you only get regen THE MOMENT YOU PICK THE HAMMER, meaning there's always going to be a window where you are vulnerable. The hammer isn't exactly consistent either, and if you miss, the animation takes long enough for a couple of shots to be fired before you can fire back, that's all time wasted when you could have just shot instead of risking landing a ranged melee. There's also the build with Ashen Wake where you combo your Fusion nades with hammers for cheesy 1 taps. But it has the same weaknesses, miss one or don't have enough stacks of roaring flames, and you can't 1 tap. Basically Middle tree Sunbreaker is just a fun subclass when you wanna spice your game a bit.
