This is because of how awful most Destiny players are. People just can't seem to stay alive, put out damage, or figure out a simple mechanic. it's super frustrating. I spent 2 hours on Atheon yesterday with a group that kept shooting the wrong oracles, getting the entire group detained, calling out the wrong oracles, and only putting up 200-300k damage after 2 damage phases. This is so incredibly simple and easy and when people can't grasp it after hours it's just so frustrating. This raid is easier than Deep Stone Crypt. It's mind blowing that someone can continue to make the same mistakes over and over for multiple hours. After seeing it happen so often, you can join a new group and know after a few runs if they are going to get it done or not. It's not toxic. Time is valuable, and sitting there watching people fail for multiple hours is a waste of time.

  • No its because the way of teamwork and competition has changed. Now it's "everyone gets a trophy! Thanks for participating! Even though you didn't do shit or were benched the whole game!" The same concept also is applying in video games like this one. You really see it in crucible matchmaking algorithms with the leader board and the end of a match. And if you don't believe me go look on Twitter, reddit, YouTube etc. One or two guys play really good and the rest were playing like heaping piles of dung. Point is just because your on the team doesn't mean let the best players do all the work, everyone should be evenly working together, not saddle bagging.

  • You come across as a person who is full of issues. It's a game. Learn to be patient with those who want to play a raid but are not experienced. Or, be upfront about who you would rather play with. This is why so many get discouraged on playing a raid.

  • I spent 9 hours on day 1 contest mode, 4 of which were on Atheon. Then I spent 2 hours the next day on normal mode Atheon. 2 hours on 1 single encounter on normal mode. Then finally I joined a group that actually knew what they were doing. I praised the sun like never before. Is that not patient enough for you? 6 goddamn hours on 1 single encounter is not patient? What world are you living in?

  • Where people are honest and up front. If you dont want inexperienced people then say that in your post. I cant count how many lfg groups ive joined where the post had no mention of clears or any level of experience required. And a person dies once and the host loses their mind and starts insulting everyone and throws a hissy fit. Lol judging by all youre comments youre one of these people and ill make sure i never join your raid to hurt your little ego.

I'm fine. Maybe you should take a deep breath and realize that raiding isn't for everybody. But you people should stop asking for piss easy things to be made even easier. Good lord what next do you want the developers to play the game for you?

  • I agree you can really see the skill gap and iq (problem solving mechanics) gap when it comes to raids because of ad functionality and mechanics and dps phases. It's for some and not for others

  • You made my point by your responses. Very defensive and temperamental. I never said anything about adjusting difficulty or having someone carry me through. Rage on if you must but I think I've proven my point. Cheers!

  • DSC might've been harder to figure out than VoG, however VoG mechanics are much harder to accomplish, and require way more consistency. DSC mechanics are very lenient.

  • Wow 200-300 damage after 2 phases? We're they shooting him with an auto rifle? I ran it for the first time yesterday, that is frustrating after 2 phases. I don't know if I could continue after seeing that. One damage phase and a mistake later I still seen 1,3 mill

  • Atheon oracles are a bit off now, because you need to stress how your team inside is going to look at oracles from, as people get often confused by reversing their lefts and rights (if oracle team is shooting down from stairs). I think that might be the bulk of the confusion there. Other than that, it’s pretty straightforward from what I’ve seen.

Atheons room is identical to the portal room. It's as simple as that. You can vision yourself standing at the stairs facing the same way as the people in the portal, which is very easy to do. There's 3 oracles at the top of the stairs, and 3 across the bottom. You can label them 1-6, clockwise, starting from the one to the right of the stairs when you're in portal. It's all so bloody easy. It's 3 oracles that pop up at a time only lol. The rooms are identical and the oracles spawn in same spots in both rooms. It's literally relaying information about 3 oracles from 1 group to another. It's mind blowing that anybody can find that difficult to do. This is insane. Let me clarify this is insane after HOURS of doing it. At first you might need some time to figure it all out in your head, but the people that can't grasp it after 4 hours....

  • The layout is the same. But the orientation of the oracles is reversed. Which is why some have suggested that those inside the portal run to the back so they can see the oracles in the same orientation. Because it simplifies the task. What you are asking people to do may be easy for you, but it is not easy for everyone. It takes a very strong visual and spatial sense to do what you’re asking...in real time...and under pressure. Part of leadership is understanding that people have different strengths and weaknesses and learn in different ways. Then adapting how you operate in order to get the most out of your team and what they bring to the table. Part of teaching is the temperament to watch people make mistakes, allow them the space to make the mistakes that are part of learning. It’s why, in my line of work, one truism is ”Easy to do. Hard to teach.”

  • Numbers tend to throw people off unless your looking at a chart that everyone can see. We just ran to the back of the room and said either left front or back, mid front or back, right front or back. That simple

  •
We just ran to the back of the room and said either left front or back, mid front or back, right front or back. That simple
We did the same... all the way to the VERY back (not on the little island) and you can see every oracle in the same viewpoint as those in boss room. Bonus... we only killed the initial room ads (hydra and 3 hobs) you can ignore the ads as you are too far away from them. Occasionally one will run around the side but it's easy to just shoot it. Only thing we did different from your group was we used the words "close" and "far" as front and back could be construed differently (we ran into that in SOTP... our group called tank 1 side "back" and most other groups called that "front"... LOL, perspective!)

  • Whatever works lol. My group ran DSC around 30 + times same people, after so many runs people know everything and just do whatever job. I'm sure VOGwill be the same

See this is what I don't get. There's only 6 numbers. Who gets thrown off by 6 numbers? These are the people that I need to avoid when I run this raid. If you get confused over 6 numbers, or if you can't invert the room, then you probably shouldn't be running a raid lol. 3 at the top, 3 at the bottom. Clockwise Stairs 1 2 3 LOTS OF SPACE 6 5 4 Portals How in the absolute hell would somebody find this hard to grasp or confusing? It's 6 numbers. It's incredibly simple and easy.

  • Honestly numbers confuse people. As soon as you get teleported head to the corresponding teleporter or dps plate and use this. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/688542635928846358/846523930873561118/Oracles.PNG Easy for most to understand. Got us through contest and been sherpa-ing 2 brand new at a time. Idk what it is but the numbers throw people off. I agree with your points tho raiding isn't for everyone.

  • Buddy, I know what the rooms look like. I am an old vet of D1 with over 70 clears of VoG. I’m telling you what probably was going on that caused people to f up. If people inside are not looking from an identical location as the outside team, lefts and rights could end up getting screwed up by some players. It’s a rather simple mistake that can constantly de-rail a run. It’s also somewhat simple to correct if everyone is on the same page in the first place. Just a thought.

  • After 4 hours you should be able to figure out something that is so incredibly simple.

  • Or as a leader you could identify the issue, and get it corrected quickly enough where it doesn’t become one in the first place. Something I’ve also noticed based on what I’ve seen is people could be accidentally shooting Gatekeeper/Left portal incorrectly, as they are fairly close together compared to right portal and gatekeeper. Might not be entirely the case, but that is also a possibility. I mean sure there are some who may not get it, but this is now technically day 3 of the raid. I’d cut some people a bit of slack for the first week or so, personally. These are just the little things I’ve observed so far, and I myself haven’t stepped into this version myself yet.

Quantum Physics comes easy to some in that field. Not for most. What comes "easy" for you, may not be so easy for others. This is why people are afraid to ask questions and learn. Your patience seems very short, just by your post.

  • You just compared quantum physics to counting to 6. Not an ideal comparison. Tying your shoes would of been more accurate.
