This is because of how awful most Destiny players are. People just can't seem to stay alive, put out damage, or figure out a simple mechanic. it's super frustrating. I spent 2 hours on Atheon yesterday with a group that kept shooting the wrong oracles, getting the entire group detained, calling out the wrong oracles, and only putting up 200-300k damage after 2 damage phases. This is so incredibly simple and easy and when people can't grasp it after hours it's just so frustrating. This raid is easier than Deep Stone Crypt. It's mind blowing that someone can continue to make the same mistakes over and over for multiple hours. After seeing it happen so often, you can join a new group and know after a few runs if they are going to get it done or not. It's not toxic. Time is valuable, and sitting there watching people fail for multiple hours is a waste of time.

  • This raid (which most people had to use YouTube and copy the actions and load-outs of others to complete) is so simple and easy right? This is why everyone creates unique loadouts and team arrangements for the raid instead of copying Kackis' advice or some other sounding board Perhaps... idk, you all suck at teaching and communicating how to figure things out? Cause in every situation I have seen, it's the supposed (quick-witted) whom are the least adaptable and first to quit when things go wrong These are the people telling others to "get good" while they quit within ten minutes of "Deciding" their team won't make it Like that is literally the entitlement of these people- you be perfect or get out of my way Meanwhile if anybody took the bullet to teach others, most of the community would know what to do Far easier to get mad and blame another for "not learning fast enough" Meanwhile the "explanations" given by the critics is no more developed than "herp, watch this youtuber and copy them" Of course they would all know what to do, they "cheat the system" just to accomplish the bare min But hey, it's our lack of skill that leads to us just actually playing the raid and not over prioritizing roles, functions and agendas- cause you know... raids were once about fun Not the loot, or the rolls, or the emblems... but the fun of tackling a challenge with your friends Which is why people were pissed at the artificial handicap placed on the first day- people just wanted to have a good time with their friends- and most of the community's response was (WELL YOU SHOULDN"T EXPECT TO BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE UNLESS YOU ARE COMPETITIVE!" Competitive against whom? My fireteam or the adds? Why do people have to treat end game content as a esport just to complete something? And considering most "strags" boil down to "hey jim you stand here and do this all day and jamie you go and be this the whole day" I doubt it's skill that completes the raids- timing, prep and properly motivated assistance/leadership is what completes them I bet if this game had the player count of SWBF2 or even BF3 most of this "god-tiers" would fall flat on their faces and be unable to get kills at all- because the shear volume of combatants would provide equal opportunity for these people to fight others of their similar "skill set" Everyone cares abo0ut K/D but the most respectful thing? the sign of skill? How many assist do you help others with, how often do you place yourself at risk to protect others on your team, etc etc Real skills and behavior which are required to actually maintain a fighting force/milita- something these people and groups pretend to be... None of these players build others or invest into others, their selfishness is rewarded but not a sign of a need for Bungie to continue to spite core players in favor of try-hards AND casuals The every-man is tired of this crap, being forced into either spazzing out or not giving a damn at all is not what we consider Bungie's intentions were in creating this game One would assume it wasn't to promote PVP or PVE But a community united by a shared "Destiny"? Yet even our raid groups are formed through division, shame and "cultural" expectations

Just spot on! The fact that you only have 5 upvotes is the proof how many elitists you pissed with every point you made in your reply. I would upvote you to the infinite, if I could.

  • Noticed similar with the lfg group yesterday. Got them to gatekeeper without any issues, but then the same guy would die to the Wyvern every single time, would not take advice on how to maybe not do that, or what loadouts might help him. Then came atheon. Wipe after wipe with all but one in the team having <300k damage after two rounds. After a couple of hours we called it. I joined an Atheon cp with 3 that had gone through the same thing, then 2 joined with same story. Took a few tries and he was done.

  • I’m tot he point where I basically call out EVERYTHING during a raid. I’ll literally call out damage phase, when certain enemies are spawning, oracles, wyverns, detainment fields, I’m sure it gets tiresome for my friends, I feel bad and I ask them if it’s annoying a lot. It honestly seems to make things go smoother though so I’m not complaining 🤷‍♂️

  • Dude! You are a gem! This is how military's work! Communication! It does help, and teams ought to do this more- instead we spend time bsing and gossiping or we are slient and trying to "focus" Lots of issues are solves by "working together", something I know the game never intended :p

  • I mean yeah, some people seem to struggle remembering all the little parts of a raid so I figure if I can do it easily enough I might as well make sure everyone can

  • Don't stop, it's never annoying and keeps people alert to what's happening. If you end up with a sore throat, just get the squad to pony up for throat lozenges. ;)

  • Same thing happened with the LFG I was with yesterday. The only difference is that we were in there unnecessarily for more than three hours. I hate when people say that they know what to do, but only on that spot are they actually learning the mechanics. Vault of Glass is my favorite raid from Destiny. In Destiny 2, I might classify it as my least favorite... only because the majority of players out there are dunces when it comes to executing simple raid mechanics.

Except 99% of the time people arent being asshats because were wiping 100 times. Hell groups i go through with rarely wipe. But tbh. If you get pissy with me and start complaining about how easy this raid is amd how trash we are from one wipe... Youre getting booted. Theres no excuse for that kind of toxicity.

While the tone may be negative, I cannot fault you for acknowledging a consistent issue when it comes to LFG. This type of issue quite literally broke my interest in raiding because I just couldn't deal with it anymore. Crown Of Sorrow is fittingly the last I've done. Garden at the time just seemed like it would be hell. Like any rational being, I'm forgiving of failure so long it is learned form, it becomes problematic once it's clear mistakes are not being fully realized and continued effort feels like a waste of time. Still, I'd stay until others bailed out, but I can't help but facepalm a complete disregard for mechanics after having them explained or an incapacity for survival that is seemingly beyond reasonable. Say it's the final room of CoS, if my partner and I can effectively spawn kill ads, I don't see how others can consistently struggle to survive so much when it takes so little. Just about everyone could be dominated almost instantly, but somehow I'd still find myself turning around to both people dead or one guy with no revive available, a wipe either way. By the game's design, you cannot do anything about this. It expects the struggling to carry their weight, so it's no surprise people start doing the same. What sucks is the thin line you're walking if you dare to talk about this because now you're suddenly the asshole that can't respect the circumstances of others or their lesser skills. It's a legitimate argument to be irritated by someone basically not being cognisant when D2 raids demand this more than ever and they practically refuse to learn from anything. It's arguably rude to expect others to carry your weight while you are simultaneously being a detriment to success for whatever reason. It's one thing if it's out of your control, but stacking on preventable wipes is bound to drive people away as the ultimate reality of LFG is that people are there to get it done not waste 3 times the amount of time they would just for someone(s) to get it together, and still probably not get what they were after. It sucks, but if people were actively seeking to tolerate this, they'd be shepherding.
