You need to collect 150 Synthstrand in total by defeating enemies (approx. drop rate: 1 Synsthrand per 2 minutes).
Yes, transmog is confusing in this game.
Before we get too deep, here’s a quick list of steps that players will take to convert their armor appearance into Universal Armor Ornaments:
Defeat enemies to earn Synthstrand.
Spend Synthstrand on bounties to earn Synthcord.
Convert Synthcord at the Loom in the Tower into Synthweave.
Use Synthweave to convert an unlocked armor appearance (Legendary quality or lower) from Collections into a Universal Armor Ornament.
To start, players will begin earning Synthstrand when defeating enemies in Destiny 2. After earning 150 Synthstrand , players may visit Ada-1 in the Tower to acquire class-specific bounties, which will reward Synthcord.
Thanks for the reply. This is quite the confusing process even after its spelled out like that haha. But I think I'm getting the gist of it. Since I've completed the first bounty and turned it in I should have received synthcord then right? Unfortunately I cannot interact with the loom atm as it says I'm missing rigid synthcord.
Since I've completed the first bounty and turned it in I should have received synthcord then right?
If you have turned your Synthcord to the Loom you will receive Synthweave corresponding to your current class.

I see, I was mistaken. I had thought that after using the loom to convert the cord into weave I would then have to use the loom again to create the ornaments. I've found the appearance customization menu (above the finishers) Thank you!

My pleasure!
