Destiny tracker would like the disagree with its about 650k players in crucible yesterday and PvE players were not much higher at 750k and Charlemagne real time activity from 3 hours back showing Crucible as 14% of the total activities being played being second to Patrol at 24%. Again...
git gud
Also, where are these engagement numbers of yours?

Destiny tracker combines Crucible and Gambit Engagement into a single “pvp” number. Actual Crucible Engagement has been consistently in the 300-350k range while Gambit is in the 200-250k range. With spikes to about 500k for Crucible during Iron Banner weeks. When SBMM was the norm, Crucible would pull around 600k and spike to 800k during Irin Banner. Those are the Warmind.Io numbers. Check your sources....

Don't really care for SBMM or CBMM, still thats enough players to justify the modes existence. Its not meant to be a main mode in the game anyway, just a side activity. You just suck at crucible and want it removed, lets be honest here... Removing PvP would be something that actually kills the game unlike your fantasy land where the game would suddenly die because Sunsetting was removed or the transmog cap was removed. How many players would stick around to play Destiny if all there was to do was... Strikes and... oh wait thats it. No Gambit, no crucible, no Trials and no Iron banner. Sure I'd still play the game as I mainly play PvE but I'd rather not remove more parts of the game after Bungie just removed half of the game. Also, not only that Bungie would have to make up the lost quest steps in future quests and game time... how you ask? Well want this new/recycled exotic? Run 5000 strikes. Does that sound fun to you? Playing the same 5 strikes over and over and over... that's what would kill the game as Bungie tries to make up for the game time they lose by removing PvP.

    1. I have nothing to prove. I play games for fun. 2. Bungie is trying to earn my time and money in a competitive market. 3. The are putting forward a product that is not up to industry standards (SBMM) and show little respect for the quality of the experience given to the consumer. 4. I enjoy competition. So going from one blowout match to another and having 50-60% of matches needing to be stopped early because they are so lopsided, is not my idea of fun. So I voted with my feet and walked. I’m not going to pay to be taken for granted and disrespected. YMMV. But most of what used to be the Crucible player base seems to agree with me... and Bungie has already put us on notice that changes are coming (“refine our vision of pvp”).

  • 1. Okay. 2. Just like it is with everyone. 3. SBMM/CBMM does not equal to the quality of the mode, you are using your subjective view by saying its bad because you are bad at it. 4. Try harder then, you can single handedly bring back matches if you actually try. Just don't play PvP if you do not like it. It does not need to be removed simply because you don't like it. Sure Bungie says they will refine their PvP, we have to wait and see what they do. But removal is not a good idea.

I’m not trying to do anything. I’m just stating facts. I’m just one of hundreds of thousands of players who have walked away from Crucible because it is an inferior product that delivers a substandard experience. Bungie can do as they please. They just have to live with the result in the marketplace. I’m not calling for it to be removed. I’m simply stating that it is an anchor on the part of the game that the vast majority play, and is preventing that part of the game from reaching its considerable potential. All while trying to provide a pvp experience it never has done successfully, and never will.
