I honestly forget who Xylar is, wasn't he the name of the boss you fought when doing that one exotic quest in VoG? It was for some weapon, but I can't remember what it was.
Also, I know the meme, but the name sounds familiar to an actual enemy

You might be thinking of the NTTE quest from D1, maybe one of the bosses that you fight in the black garden portion of the quest? As far as I can remember the only exotic quest that involved VoG was that one, but it was just to complete the raid. Either that or there was a mission for something where you fought a boss hydra in the Gorgon maze, that might be it
