It's a biased poll. Destiny IS a PVE game that has a strong pvp factor, its always going to have the majority agree with only pve because of the way pvp has been treated. There is no pvp quite as satisfying as destiny, sharp gunplay, cool abilities and great loot (sometimes). It just needs dedicated attention by a set team to get more people involved. Plus, pve can get stale faster than pvp in a lot of scenarios, there are only so many times that you can make enemies more difficult or have simple but interesting mechanics before pve mains cry out that there is nothing to do. Borderlands 3 is strictly pve and no matter how many tough enemies they add, or how many mechanics you add, once you do it enough times, it's done. Whereas in pvp the challenge is the other player in a seasonal meta-shifting sandbox, the only issue is maps that are done to death, little loot incentive in a looter-shooter, and broken metas that make gunfights less rewarding to enjoy or challenge than pulling out a shotgun and freezing the opponent. The answer will never be to remove pvp, it can be a fantastic gamemode when there is a big enough reason to care vs the struggle of pvp in a game about space magic. It simply needs fresh ideas and an ammo economy re-balance to shift people away from only using special ammo for a 1 shot kill.

  • Sharp gunplay and it not getting stale as fast? You serious? Any time I play pvp, at least 90% of the people are using slideshot shotguns.

  • Yes, when the gameplay is at its best, it is sharp and dynamic. Did you not bother reading the bit where I said that it is unfortunately easier to shotgun everyone?

  • I think PvE in Destiny is boring. I love the PvP though

    >Strong PvP Factor >Destiny No lmao. Destiny is literally a PvE game and PvP is used as a crutch for content and to keep people occupied until the next new content drop. If they are bored of the PvE that is. But at this point in the Destiny "franchise" it's far better if people just stopped playing and come back when new content drops, rather than smash their head against the PvP wall and the forums getting spammed endlessly about how PvP is bad and imbalanced. Only getting worse with time actually. And there's no escaping the black-hole of PvP imbalance in Destiny. Nerf one thing and something else takes it's place. Buff something else and it magically becomes the meta because the "weakness" was the only thing holding it back.

  • I’d be curious to know how many people actually play a lot of PvP whenever content is slow. I only dip my toes into PvP when Trials has some loot I want or if there’s some quest telling me to play PvP. Outside of that, if I find myself getting burned out I just play a different game. Even at its best, Destiny’s PvP is annoying.

Re Killer Yeen’s comment (since indent doesn’t seem to work here): I doubt many do. I got bored with this last season - close to burning out. Played Horizon instead, enjoyed heck out of it. Played Outriders too, ditto, despite its issues (and there are many). But I’ll take Outriders with its issues over PvP in Destiny most any day. I don’t enjoy it, don’t care for the sheer toxicity in the game; it is terrible. Some folks say that’s just psyops, but that is utter BS - it’s just the bottom-most dregs of personality coming to the fore, being let loose because they can. Anyone talking like that in real life would get their mouth shut pronto. Which is why I leave chats whenever folks start in on PvP. I don’t need people yelling and shouting “MF” (and far, far worse) on permanent loop. Or I go play solo or limited group PvE. Much nicer that way. I play to enjoy myself; listening to others plumb the depths of their derogatory terminology is not part of that.

  • One of my clanmates is probably the archetype Bungie loves the most. He will find even the tiniest reason to keep playing Destiny2 after he's already quoted as saying he's bored. People want to play other things or even continue the games they've already started? He'll ignore it and continue filling his vault with stacks of trashy weapon rolls. And he loves any excuse to buy Eververse junk, Bright Dust or money. The worst type of Destiny player. Enabling bad Bungie decisions and having fan-gasms over nostalgia-bait reused D1 content.
