Destiny PvE just isn’t good or replayable enough. There are only so many times you can do that one raid or strike again. If PvP was to go, they’d have to make the PvE (at least in yearly expansions) much much better. More enemies. New enemy races. A much better story. Varied mission design. Difficulty that isn’t just damage sponges or teleporting.
I doubt they would ever remove PvP though. Their intentions for having it are perfectly stated in the state of Destiny for this year. Just a shame we see basically nothing at all in terms of updates. PVP’s pinnacle was D2Y2. Trials has always encouraged a boring and extremely passive style of play. Would prefer if it’s rewards were available in another game mode type.

Edited by Enatos: 5/7/2021 2:19:29 AMI'd get bored real quick. I mean I already do but I just love how destiny 2 operates gameplay wise. It's like the Halo series. Halo wouldn't have been that popular if it wasn't for PvP.

Destiny has the most buttery smooth gameplay I’ve ever experienced and probably ever will experience in a video game. Playing with their sweet new exotic weapons and armour and different gear feels like playing with a new toy you earn. Builds and customisation are awesome. The only issue is the stuff you use it on. Enemies are the same since Destiny’s launch and bosses have always been enlarged versions of smaller units with a few minor tweaks. Destiny could learn a lot of lessons from the Souls games, Monster Hunter and a few PS exclusives, mainly in terms of enemy variety and behaviour. Difficulty could also be something other than damage sponges and teleporting. I think only then would Destiny be in a great spot PvE wise. In terms of PvP, for me and probably many others they hit the absolute pinnacle of PvP in structure, satisfaction and rewards back in D2Y2. Destiny PvP back then has given me some of my best memories I’ve ever had in gaming. A shame how we’ll probably never see that side of Bungie again 😣
