I don’t think the PVE in Destiny is strong enough on its own. I don’t understand why anyone plays Destiny PVE if they are not gearing up for PvP. To me Destiny PVE is not fun enough to grind to play additional PVE content.
Before I started PvP in Destiny 2, I played all sorts of campaigns in other games. To me Bungie’s story telling and cut scenes were only strong enough n their own in Forsaken maybe. With no more help from other studios, there are just much better PVE options out there.
I also think Bungie is missing out on a huge uptick in PvP gamers out there at the moment, but I haven’t actually tried to confirm user numbers or anything. I would say even if their numbers are up slightly, PvP is dying given the populations in other PvP games over the last year. When the world gets back to normal and people aren’t gaming as much, the struggle will start getting real.

I dont understand why players want to do pve activity for gear to go in to pvp with. That to me sounds like players just want as much advantage or crutch over other players, and makes a rather crap experience and alot of crying of the have's and have nots. To me the sandboxes need separating, pve stuff and pvp stuff.

I don’t think it’s crutching when you have to play PVE activities for specific weapons and materials. You can maybe argue that with crucible pinnacles sunset, the strongest weapons are in PVE, but that’s a stretch. Maybe because of exotics, but Trials weapons are the best legendary weapons in the game. If serious PvP players crutch, it’s usually on The Messenger or Igneous Hammer. Weapons like Dead Man’s Tale, and Hawkmoon are outliers because of their exotic quests. I would argue that most serious PvP players don’t use DMT because it is obviously broken on M&K and everyone knows it’s a crutch. Been seeing fewer Messengers in PVP too for the same reason. Players in PvP using DMT are usually scrubs doing anything they can to improve their stats. The only thing I play PVE for now is exotic quests and I’ll occasionally farm masterworking materials because they’re quicker to earn in double loot strikes. I don’t consider masterworked weapons and armor crutching. It makes a difference, but if you’re in Trials or Iron Banner without masterworked gear, you deserve to be at a disadvantage IMO. I guess it’s the PVE equivalent of doing a contest modifier raid or GM nightfall without masterworked gear.

How long Warframe have been around for? With a PvP no one plays, yet the lore and the PVE content are still booming

when people are not gaming near as much, pvp is very much in trouble.

Bungie love data, a corporation go where the money yet so it’s more obvious to me that are focusing on what’s selling even if goes stale in a few weeks

I’m guessing the PvP players probably spend the most money in game as well. Why would you buy any ornaments from the eververse if you aren’t showing them off in the Crucible? You going to buy a bunch of cosmetics to raid? Seems kinda silly to buy ornaments for PVE, but maybe people do.
