Would you leave Destiny if they took out PvP?

Just a survey for devs to see what they should be focused on. Edit: I've been reading almost all the posts to my poll, and really am enjoying the engaging argument. Yes, I realize the forum has a bias towards PvE. Not much I can do about that. It is what it is. What I am pleased to see is the COMMENTS seem to be relatively equal in PvP vs PvE...and that was my hope. Is balance in PvP hurting PvE? Should D2 PvE be a deeper RPG experience? What other games handle this marriage of PvP and PvE well, and how are they able to do that? Is PvP being held back by lack of engaging content? While most will blame one side for the other's demise, the long and short of it is that Destiny 2 is HUGELY popular...and has been all the while with a marriage of both PvP and PvE...even creating a new genre of game that combines then both, with Gambit. What I feel Bungie needs to do is continue engaging all three sections of the game equally. Seasons should simply rotate the focus...so each get a large content drop when it's their turn. As far as balancing the game, they should stop trying so hard. Balancing doesn't mean make EVERYTHING the same. It means making everything have POTENTIAL...if you use the right combination of mods, perks and play styles. I just don't know if Bungie is slowly killing off PvP to get people to engage with their next IP or are they just struggling to get the right people to fix D2. What I do know, however, is the struggle is real!

  • i would be happy, if they removed this cheat infested game mode, where it is mandatory for some quests to play it, and focused on something else

  • Crucible barely exist in the Game so it would only make a small impact with it’s removal.

  • Crucible isn't even on my radar anymore when it comes to a PvP experience. I'd much rather play a mix of R6 Siege, Battlefield 4, and CoD.

Technically, I already left. But if pvp was removed, I'd probably never come back because it is usually the only thing I play when I do get on.

  • PvP is not as bad as people make it out to be. That being said I think the biggest problem for both PvE and PvP is the fact the game is free to play. F2P hurt this game more than most any other change Bungie has made to D2.

  • Clickbait poll. Condense it to this: We play PvE because loot. We play PvP because skill. Those who like PvE will always downvote PvP, and vice versa.

  • They are slowly removing PvP, I would not be surprised if it goes away or gets removed, completely revamped and then reintroduced.

  • No, but i think it should still have some sort of pvp, just not like trials. Maybe bring trials ti iron banner. A weekly iron banner. A pve game with pvp on the side for fun.

  • I wouldn't miss Crucible if it was removed, it's just not a part of the game I enjoy. Or interested in getting better at etc, I'm just not interested. Out of the people I know who play the game, maybe 1 out of 5 actually enjoy Crucible. And anyone else I know who does it, is just there for the participation pinnacle. Or working on a catalyst quest, that has an objective involving killing guardians with a specific weapon.

  • This isn’t a very good question and honestly, despite your polls numbers at base looking like they say: “well pve should be focused on coz 2/3rds the f people wouldn’t leave” another way to see it is “1/3rd of income, players, and potential expansion purchases will leave this game if pvp isn’t healthy. Yes, pve is always going to be primary, but when 33 percent average people are there for pvp, consider that it’s actually a substantial amount, and if they were to leave the income of the game would drop, pve content would become worse as a result and this knock on effect would lead to the game dying. Pvp is a HUGE part of destiny. Heck there exotics in the game literally made for it (the last word, hawkmoon, thorn, sturm and drang) guns that see near 0 usage in pve but huge in pvp. To remove pvp would kill the game.

Such kinda of voting is nore representative. Because it depends where you ask about it. The majority of players are not vocal at all. They aint even registered on youtube or anywhere else. So if they like the stuff, thye play. If they dont like the game at all they leave it and they do it pretty silent, no drama. Bungie dont need your ideas or some votings :)) They have gygabytes of ingame data to analze. They know what modes people play the most, wich gun they use, wich fockin shaders they use and etc. And if even here on the forum where people a mostly invoved into the game big time its like 1/2 - yes/no, so you can imagine that if you would theoretically ask entire player base about pvp, 90% at least wouldnt give a fck. Well, not like that actually, pvp and some pvp events like a bannter is good as long as it is a small addition to ingame activities. The game is too multilayered and complex to present us any kind of competitive pvp. It will be yolo circus all the time with weird stuff goin on. But its fun if you dont tryhard it because its not meant to be. Its pretty obvious. So in anyway I cant see whats the purpose of that voting. It doesnt present you with any kinda of valuable data. Pure speculation.

    • Everyone saying "Yes" is a liar. There is no way they would leave this game. Bungie could charge $5 every time you log in and only let you walk around the tower with nothing else and the two main crowds would still remain; the complainers voicing their criticism while still paying/playing and the sympathizers defending the choice because "They have to make money somehow" and "People should be grateful" and the most important "The devs would go homeless and starve if we didn't support them" Bungie has proven that no matter what they do, no matter how much they insult their consumer's intelligence, no matter how much they show a blatant disregard for the people who play their game, people will still play, the only difference is if they'll be a complainer or a sympathizer. There are no smart Destiny players left. Everyone with the slightest sense of self-respect has stopped playing this game. The only people playing are idiots who Bungie will continue to take advantage of any way they can.

With the general state that PvP is in now, no. I wouldn't miss it. I'm worried that PvP is going to implode on itself anyways.

      • While I wouldn’t stop playing, I would drastically spend a lot less time. I care about PvE and PvP, so losing that one side would be kind of sad.

      • I understand the pve people not liking going into crucible to get a exotic but not all us pvp people enjoy grinding strikes, etc. for an exotic it goes both ways. I get the old notion of pvp stuff nerfing pve stuff but it’s usually a combination of both. Another point is they’ve started separating sandboxes mainly seen in the stasis nerfs certain things work differently in pve than pvp so I’m assuming they’ll continue to do this. Finally sunsetting was a result of BOTH pvp and pve an example would be mountaintop and recluse combo extremely effective in pvp and pve and no one would switch off let’s be real, that resulted in them having to find a solution to this whole sunsetting was definitely not the proper solution it was a born of people sticking to one extremely potent loadouts inside of the game sandbox. That being said why don’t we all just get along and admit that the different aspects of the games affect each other because they do. Thank u for coming to my vex talk 🙃

      • PVE gets boring fast, as much as I love the PVE experience. The thing I've always like about Destiny for the most part is its variety of activites and it caters to every type of player. Sure things need constantly refining but getting rid of PVP would be getting rid of a huge chunk of the game and players.

I mean like, I get people absolutely despise pvp, and it makes sense. But I genually enjoy pvp, and I don’t even have beyond light so no stasis for me. There are many problems with pvp, but I feel that some of them aren’t as important and people just over exaggerate about it. Either that or I’m just getting lucky not having the same problems. But either way I like playing pvp, and I would probably leave destiny if they took it out.

      • D1 PvP was fun. Events or not, it's always been fun even just to hang out on D1 Crucible. That's because the guns really feels better in D1. I don't know what happened to D2. But it's useless and bland to even hang out in any PvP in D2. Even the PvE is empty. Useless and empty things usually end up in the garbage.

        • Biased poll is biased. It's not that black and white. But aside from that, PvP is a part of Destiny. We're literally 7 years into the series now and people are still saying stuff like this...it's selfish and inconsiderate honestly.
