Heya,
Ever since Beyond Light dropped I've been experiencing significant, frequent and disruptive framerate drops while playing Destiny and despite my best efforts I've been unable to resolve the issues. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to what causes these drops - some occur during "high intensity" gameplay, with supers flying everywhere, but it's just as likely that I could be shooting two Vex while wandering about the overworld, or just running across a Crucible map, and the same frame issues would occur.
These issues are independent of graphics settings - occurring with the same severity at both max and min graphics settings - and seem to coincide with spikes in GPU and CPU usage. It is also independent of the latest Windows cumulative update (which has been causing frame issues in other games), although rolling back said update did improve issues other games developed after said update.
I have attempted the fix in this video ( https://youtu.be/l5P6q3vn-38 ) however it was unsuccessful, despite following the steps exactly. I have found the same issue being reported by other users on other forums, with some having success with the same fix, and others having no luck just like me.
I am going to attempt a full reinstall, to see if this solves the issues [UPDATE: It has not], but I'm still curious as to whether others have found solutions to the same problem. Just to further narrow down my problem, my specs are as follows:
-Windows 10
-i7 7700HQ @ 2.80GHz
-24GB RAM @ 1197MHz
-4095MB NVIDIA GTX1070
-Destiny's installed on a HDD
Thanks in advance for any advice or support
UPDATE:
Appears problem is not linked to Destiny exclusively, has become noticeable in other games. Believe may be connected to hardware - just most noticeable in Destiny since it's so movement-heavy and fast-paced.
