This has been an issue since implentation of SDR. I'm on the east coast and can only visualize 2 SDR servers that I'm trying to connect through. There is also only 3 visible on the west coast. The lag and latency has been horrendous, and I'm on console. Since the release of the SDR, connections have been terrible.

You wouldn't by any chance be able to tell roughly where the east coast servers are geographically would you? This could be why I'm not seeing the problems others are since about saturday.

But I don't think that would necessarily mean that the game would be working almost perfectly for me. And it be such a drastic difference compared to what it was last week. Its strange last week I was getting all the stuff just like what's in those videos and now its almost all gone. I would win matches last week and feel like I had been losing the whole time and since saturday I will lose 3 in a row and think that I was winning. That's how big of a change its been.

main issue here is getting matched with players with greater than optimal ping, and it does corelate with the implementation of SDR, but its gotten worse with beyond light launch. So it could be improved, maybe some relays are bad, maybe increasing the tickrate can make a difference, who knows, bungie is staying silent on this one ofc

From what I can tell the end result will be better than what it was before though. This stuff has been happening off and on since BL came out and like people said, especially since they did the next gen upgrades. I can't help but think that its leading to something. And tbh, I have no way of knowing, but in quite a few matches I've been seeing people that I assume may be from other countries. Like I said, can't say for sure, but usually when you start to get a ton of people with their country abbreviations in their names over an extended period of time, I think its safe to say not all of them are from America. And those matches, since things have cleared up for me, are better than they ever were when I would play people from other countries before (for the most part). So, it may just be that this is a rough patch before things settle down and end up better off.
