Back when I went to basic training,1988, we would have what they called soda breaks. When I mentioned pop most had no idea what I was talking about. I also had no idea at first what soda was lol. Come to find out pop was just slang where I live ,and most use the word soda.

When I was in the army in the 70s a guy from the south told me that all sodas are called cokes where he lived.
