How do you get that many mod components? I need to buy and dismantle rare scout rifles every time banshee sells a mod I don’t have...

How long have you been playing? I have 1300 components and have been playing on and off since launch.
-
Probably 10 hours per week since launch.
-
That’s way more than I’m playing at the moment, do you do the banshee bounties?
-
Nope. 🙂
-
I’d say there’s your problem then, I do them every time I log on.
-
It’s not a problem though... if I need mod components I just buy a few sonata-48 out of collections and then dismantle them until I have enough. This way I don’t end up with stacks that I don’t need, which the Original message complains about.
-
You ever hear of enhancement cores? How do you get those?
-
Why the sarcasm?
-
It's a real question since you don't do Gunsmith bounties and you're still relying on Sonatas for mod components.

Edited by pacificdune: 4/20/2021 5:16:26 PMOK... I get plenty of those by dismantling gear I don’t need, ranking up in crucible and vanguard, decrypting umbral engrams, weekly Hawthorne, and visiting the spider occasionally. Since I’m overflowing on prisms and shards from gm nightfalls my only use for them is to infuse gear, and most everything I need for my loadouts is close to 1310 and masterworked. Dismantling sonatas takes about the same amount of time that it does to load into an activity to do the gunsmith bounty, so why would I do that? I don’t have very much time, and I mostly only do high level content. Lately that means harbinger / presage solos and gm nightfalls. Everything else is boring easy. Running around getting kills with this or that weapon is agonizingly boring, and unnecessary for my play time priorities.

Fair enough. Gunsmith bounties can be completed in 10 minutes and are easy cores so a lot of players do them. The mod components are an unnecessary addition which has led many players to post about the need for Bungie to do something with them.

Edited by pacificdune: 4/20/2021 7:35:27 PMYep. I think having dozens of seemingly random currencies, each with its own economy, is great! Not... I play the game for the gunplay and for the challenging activities, so I typically just want to blow through all that crap as fast as I can. The fact that I need to watch banshee every day for a shot at the 4-5 remaining mods that I need is annoying.... but oh well. Cheers and have a good one! Dune

But you did ask the question “how do you get that many mod components?” So I thought as you were asking the question you needed a hand. I don’t know for sure but when Ada 1 comes back she may require mod components as a form of currency, but like I said, I don’t know for sure.
