Thorn Catalyst
I love thorn and it pairs well with the necrotic grip but a catalyst that could and some range, better yet more stability would be great. I know people data-mined the catalyst and it exist but it would be great to have it actually in the game.

11 RepliesThey need to start making catalyst for exotic armor instead of the upgrade system. Maybe have it where u have to get it to tier 9 and then the cat finishes the masterwork and uses one ascendant golf ball(3 is just excessive) And make it so that it either buffs the exotic perk, or maybe adds another, but less impactful one that pairs with the exotic perk

9 RepliesHaving one is one thing. Getting it to drop is another. There’s still about 5 catalysts I can’t get to drop - not even from harder activities - literally just crucible matches, strikes, and lost sectors. I do them over and over and over and the damn things don’t drop. Sometimes I’ll get an exotic engram that gets sent to the postmaster. When I decrypt it, it turns into damn enhancement core 🤬🤬

Honestly I'd love catalysts on most of my exotics for no other reason than the orb generation

All exotics should generate orbs and have a kill counter. Bungo forgot the whole reasoning for catalysts was to buff underperforming exotics. Then they started giving them to already great exotics and people decided every exotic needs one

This gun definitely needs catalyst. I remembered I had more than 20K kills in Destiny 1. So much fun.

If we look at the catalysts released since last season: SOTH: NTTE, the shotgun, Hawkmoon, and Leviathan's Breath. SOTC: Ticuu, DMT, Heir Apparent. If this is how they're going to do it, only one old weapon will be getting a catalyst at a time now, and since both of the old weapons were Y3 event/ quest weapons, I wouldn't be surprised if f'ing Bastion got one next season, partially because we're supposedly dealing with more time travel and going back to the corridors of time like we did to get Bastion 2 weeks early. Now assuming they haven't changed the catalyst like they did with Black Talon, Cerberus, and Trinity, Thorn is supposed to get +20 range and +30 stability.

While Thorn is my most used Exotic, my Favorite and I don’t disagree with you about having a catalyst. Being data mined means very little. They data mined Wardcliff Coil all the way back in D1. It was released in D2.
