It should work on a “slow” perk.
So the only way to freeze is reaching slow 100. In other words no ability alone can freeze.
The higher the “slow” the harder the player is actually slowed, of course up to 100.
So this is what I mean:
-Warlock Melee: 70 slow (because a 1 time use plus its range so it gives them a chance to finish them off.)
-Titan Melee: 40 slow (because of the push back and ability for Titans to melee or shotgun faster because of close range)
-Hunter melee: (each) 35 slow (because of range and escape chance)
-Coldsnap Grenade: 50 slow (because of tracking it allows for easy escape or deadly grip)
-Glacier Walls Grenade: instant freeze, if inside, but damage reduced for shatter (to make it more high risk, high reward)
-Duskcloud Grenade: (each .5 seconds) 5 slow (to allow an easier escape at the start but make it harder the longer you remain inside. Pull stays the same as post nerf)
-Hunter/Warlock/Titan Super: Instant Freeze
-Titan/Howl of the Storm: (Same as Glacier Walls Grenade, but aim assist is lowered to make it more high risk, high reward)
-Warlock/Stasis Turret: 7.5 slow (fires 3 shots each 1.5 seconds with slow/weak tracking but quicker velocity, last 10 seconds or till broken)
-Warlock/Rift Freeze: Instant Freeze (another high risk, high reward)
These would be my changes...
If I forgot another ability pls tell :)

You’ve gone way overboard with trying to “balance this.” Legit dude, two hunter melees for the effect of one warlock? If something like this was to ever exist, it wouldn’t be that disparaging.
-
Yes because you automatically get two melees as a hunter and your dodge gives you those abilities back faster than anything warlock can and ever could.
-
Getting two melee charges doesn’t mean each have to be half as effective, that makes having two melee charges literally worthless. In fact, worse than worthless, because it now takes you twice as long to apply the same effect, and the cooldown is twice as long to recover. This is the exact opposite of balance.
-
So you think it's okay to have two stronger melees that have more utility that you can get back instantly?
-
Quote where I said that? No, but having two melee’s at half effectiveness defeats the entire point of having two melees in the first place, and actually makes them weaker than just having one full strength melee.
-
I didn't say you said that. Based on your response, I was legitimately asking and honestly. Shurikens are still more effective then penumbral blast
-
Let me speak for myself and don’t try to conflate what I’m saying to draw ridiculous conclusions. Having two charges of a melee ability that is half as effective as a melee ability with a single charge is not balanced, and renders having two charges of the ability completely pointless and actually detrimental. Because like I said before, now it takes you twice as long to have the same effect with twice the cooldown.
-
How is what I said a ridiculous conclusion?
-
I gave you a 5 and you went straight to 10. It’s a common straw man tactic, I made an argument and you tried to recontextualise it by taking it in the complete opposite direction to the absolute extreme. In academic circles this tactic is recognised as you not having anything credible to argue, so you’re instead trying to sabotage the other participant.
-
Literally only asked a question based on what you said. Don't know how that's choosing to defer or deflect from the topic of conversation but okay

Edited by Pharaoh Rising: 4/19/2021 10:28:52 AM😅😅, I’m all about criticism and feedback. But he was not making sense that much on his argument. I guess I can bump up the slow charge but then it wouldn’t be balanced that warlock melee no longer will compare to Hunters. At least Hunters still had to hit Both. If we had to raise it to say 40-50 now any two shots are pre-nerf really and cause it to just be broken again since it’ll be way too hard to move at 80-100 slow...
