Most of his changes take time and resources to do. To do everything he wants, they would have to sacrifice at least a season of new activities just to make the changes to the old ones, and people won’t like that. It’s not worth sacrificing making new stuff to make changes to the old

No, a season with nothing at all. Sure, the new abilities would be nice, but that is fun for a limited time. 2 weeks, tops. A season keeps people for more than just 2 weeks.

Pretty sure many more players would be so hyped for Light Subclasses to be on equal footing with Stasis (ie. actually usable in Crucible without being at a distinct disadvantage), and the potential to actually see other Subclasses used instead of facing Triple Revenants in Trials all the time that they could take a lackluster Season knowing that buffs/reworks were coming.

While that is true, that is assuming the season would be bad, which is unfair to see. A subclass update taking the place of a season is good, but this "new" gets old, fast. At least, it would give youtubers a lot of builds content.

We're, what, two Seasons after the release of Stasis? And it's still dominating? The other Subclasses don't have to captivate or completely reinvent how we play Destiny (would definitely be nice, though). I think I can safely speak for others when I say we just want to be able to actually customize our Light Subclasses and not be at an absolute disadvantage against all the Stasis-addicted tryhards.

And what i am saying is that i also want light subclasses to be customizable. However, that takes time, and they lose money in the long run if they sacrifice a season for those buffs. They wouldnt charge 10 dollars for just customizable subclasses. If they did, people would be MAD. Thats good, dont get me wrong, but not worth 10 dollars. So they lose a season on money, and since there isnt new content to do, numbers start falling. Way faster than they do if you have a season. My point is that a customizable light subclasses should exist, but not take the place of a season.

And my point is that compared to some of the Seasons we've already had...Bungie could've definitely just taken a pass. Not to say that they just do nothing for a Season without letting the community know what they're planning! And although I will concede that this theoretical exercise would have been extremely unlikely at the start of the Covid pandemic, things have been improving (ignoring American politics and certain global hotspots), so Bungie being unable to deliver some form of busy work for a Season while also reworking D2s framework in the background would be less a valid excuse for failing to deliver, and more a tacit admission that Bungie's current Seasonal model can't hack it. Despite not being a developer, I know the changes that would need to be made aren't a small project. That said, Bungie kind of forced the issue by letting Crucible stagnate, [b]then[/b] releasing Stasis without at least ensuring it wouldn't run roughshod over everything else for Seasons. The game has survived lackluster Seasonal offerings before, even when the promise of good content [i]wasn't[/i] incoming. Hypothetically speaking. All of this is hypothetical.

We certainly are better off for having seasons like Worthy and Hunt, instead of vastly improving the basic framework of Destiny. That was sarcasm.

Fair point , I would agree. Not necessarily saying do everything he wants, but at least it should be a template for ideas. As far as money and resources, I just can’t buy that they don’t have it.

Of course they have some. They just don’t have an infinite amount. For all of his changes, they would need to use all of it, for at least a season
