Simple solution to sliding with shotguns is to lock the view of the player to the direction they are sliding and only allow up to 90 degrees of turning from where they are sliding to with a slower turn sensitivity. It would prevent players from sliding and being able to do a complete 180 while sliding to shoot a target behind them. It would also give players opportunities to out manoeuvre the sliding enemy.
Then if it can be done only to PvP I'd have it so consecutive shotgun blasts would gain more spread if you didn't give the shotgun a second to go back to normal. It would balance out the fact there is no consequences to spamming shotgun shots.
Felwinters probably does need some touching in the range department so it isn't widely better than any other shotty.

Cool lets nerf the fun and gameplay diversity XD. If somebody manages to kill you will sliding away from you and doing a 180...sorry but you kinda deserved this headshot XD

How deluded must you be to think there is diversity right now in the PvP sandbox? https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/db/insights Felwinter's has a 16% usage percentage Astral has a 5.74% usage percentage Bastion only has 2.73% usage percentage Frozen Orbit only has a 2.49% usage percentage Also, its not about sliding away someone can slide towards you and miss you with a shotgun and then turn while still sliding and shoot again with little to no drawbacks. Destiny 2 in general is way too forgiving compared to literally any other PvP game.

Diversity of gameplay Not divsersity of loadouts XD. Those are 2 different things.
